ObjectiveTo build the core competence training program for the junior nurse in order toprovide reference for clinical training core competence of junior nurses.MethodsTwo questionnaires were conducted by convenience sampling and randomsampling method,and the collected data were statistically analyzed.The semi structureinterview was administered to a purposive sample of7nursing managers as theresearch object who were selected from Zhengzhou City and conducted,then the datafrom interview was analysed and induced to get conclusions. According to thestructure of the questionnaire and results of semistructured interviews,a Delphi expertconsultation questionnaire was formulated.Then17senior experts in3areas ofclinical nursing, nursing managemen and nursing education from4provinces andcities nationwide were conducted2rounds of the Delphi expert consultation, whichultimately determine the junior nurse core competence training program,whichconsists of6training programmes and33training contents.Results1.Core competence score of low seniority nurses was113.05±26.04, among which critical thinking, the ability of scientific research and professional developmentability scores were lower.2. The total score of the demands of discharged patients for high quality nursingservice ability of nurses was134.07±36.25,wherein the health guide ability and theclinical nursing ability scores were higher and the ability of autonomous learning withlower score. The demands of patients with different characteristics for high qualitynursing service varied (P<0.05).3. The interviewees thought the core ability that nurses should possess shouldincluded6aspects:the ability of nursing knowledge, clinical skills, interpersonalcommunication skills, law and ethics ability, attitude and value,and the ability ofhealth education,wherein nursing knowledge and clinical skills were considered to bethe most important ability of core competence in low seniority nurses.4.The positive coefficients of2rounds Delphi method were94.44%,100%andexpert authority coefficient was0.85±0.14,which were believed significant.Thecoordination coefficient in the2round of expert consultation were0.362,0.394,Pvalue was lower than0.05, which was statistical significance.5.2rounds of Delphi expert consultation came to a conclution that corecompetence of low seniority nurses training program should consists7trainingprojects and35training contents.ConclusionThe core competence training program for junior nurse shuoud include7training projects and35training contents,and6training programmes consisted ofnursing knowledge, clinical skills, interpersonal communication skills,legalethics,attitudes and values,ability of health education and scientific research training.
