ObjectiveTo observe pseudo-accommodative power and vision in age-related cataract patients after Quatrix intraocular lens implantation.MethodsRetrospective case series.60age-related cataract patients were collected in our hospital from June2012to September2013who were suffered monocular phacoemulsification cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation (60eyes). According to the type of intraocular lens divided into two groups. The control group was implanted with C-shaped brace Tecnis ZA9003, the experimental group was implanted with four points brace CROMA Quatrix,30patients respectively (30eyes). To observation uncorrected distance visual acuity, corrected distance visual acuity,35mm near vision, corrected near vision after three months. In drug (2%Pilocarpine) induced, the application of ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) measured before and after adjusting the depth change of the anterior chamber, and calculated its pseudo accommodation (objective method), intraocular lens pseudo accommodation was detected by negative lens method (subjective method). ResultsAfter3months, the pseudo-accommodative power was detected by the objective determination in the control group (0.47±0.18D), and in the experimental group was (0.69±0.21D), which the difference was significant (t=6.741, P=0.027); the pseudo-accommodative power was detected by the subjective methods in the control group (1.68±0.35D), and in the experimental group was (2.14±0.46D), the difference was statistically significant (t=7.837, p=0.015). Uncorrected distance visual acuity, corrected distance visual acuity,35mm near vision, corrected near vision were0.83±0.37D,0.95±0.33D,0.32±0.13D,0.79±0.20D and0.86±0.31D,0.98±0.27D,0.49±0.17D,0.84+0.21D in the control group and the experimental group respectively,35mm near vision in which the difference was statistically significant (t=9.393, p<0.01), uncorrected distance visual acuity, corrected distance visual acuity, corrected near vision was no significant difference (P>0.05).ConclusionsAfter phacoemulsification, the eyes with intraocular lens had a certain pseudo accommodation, disturbance of Quatrix IOL capsular bag and ciliary muscle tissue is less, which touches the posterior capsule more fully, patients can have good distance vision while with a certain capacity of near vision, it is a safe and effective clinical application.
