The Clinical Study On Lenses Refractive Surgery

Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic effects of phacoemulsification of cataract or clear lens with the collapsible intraocluar lens implantation in patients with high myopia and clininal application of toric IOLs and multifocal intraocular lens.Material and Methods: 50 patients(61eyes)with high myopia and cataract were performed phacoemulsification with collapsible intraocluar lens implantation and 24 eyes of high myopic patients performed clear lens phacoemulsification with collapsible intraocluar lens implantation were analyzed . Preoperative axial length, postoperative visual acuity and refractive error were recorded. Intraoperative and postoperative complications were observed. The follow-up ranged from1 to 6 months.Results: Of the 61 eyes performed phacoemulsification with collapsible intraocluar lens implantation, optimal corrected visual acuity achieved 0. 2 or better in 55 eyes(90.9%) and 0.5 or better in 37 eyes(60.7%). In 24 eyes of high myopic patients performed clear lens phacoemulsification with collapsible intraocluar lens implantation , the uncorrected visual acuity were all improved half a year after surgery and in 19 eyes (79.1%) the uncorrected visual acuity achieved≥0.5and the corrected visual acuity was≥0.5 in 22 eyes (91.6%). The mean post-operative spherical equivalent and astigmatism were (-1.34±0.62)D and (0.84±0.87)D respectively. 1 eye had posterior capsule rupture and 12 eyes received binocular disturbances.3 eyes developed posterior capsule opacification and 1 eyes were performed neodymium:YAG laser posterior capsulotomy. No retinal or choroidal detachment or pressure improvement was observed during the follow-up. Conclusion: It is safe and effective for high myopia with cataract or clear lens to implant a postrior chamber lens(PC-IOL) after phacoemusification to correct high myopia. Multifocal intraocular lens has a wide focal depth can acquire a better whole range vision.
