| ObjectivePost-operative urinary retention (POUR) is one of the common complications after hemorrhoidectomy, affect quality of life of patients severely.Current literature has confirmed the effectiveness of acupuncture therapy on POUR, therefore, this research is based on the etiology and pathogenesis of urinary retention, to find effective and diversified treatments to alleviate the suffering of patients who after mixed hemorrhoid operation. Therefore, the aim of the research is exploring a new choice for clinical workers by evaluating scientifically the effect of electro-acupuncture.Methods90patients after mixed hemorrhoid operation who in accordance with the inclusion criteria randomly were divided into electro-acupuncture groupl, electro-acupuncture group2, and Tamsulosin group (0.2mg po) in anorectal inpatient department of Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital during the period of2013May to2014January. Urinary retention indexes including the first urination, urine flow rate, lower abdominal symptoms and signs were observed since POUR within2hours. At the same time, the adverse reactions and prognosis were recorded. All the data results were analyzed by PASW Statistics18.0statistical software.ResultNo significant differences among the three groups in Baseline characteristics after the test (P>0.05). There were statistically differences among the three groups in the first micturition time, first micturition volume, lower abdominal symptoms and pain scores, average urinary flow rate (P<0.05).ConclusionThe results revealed that the effect of the electro-acupuncture groups in the treatment POUR of mixed hemorrhoid is basically the same as Tamsulosin group. The electro-acupuncture groups effected faster and alleviated the abdominal symptoms more obvious than Tamsulosin group. The electro-acupuncture curative effect is exacted on the treatment POUR of mixed hemorrhoid, no toxic side effect, and can be widely applied to clinical. |
