ObjectiveThe purpose of the research was to evaluate the situation of regulation of immune function, the efficacy and safety of the acupuncture treatment, and provide real basis for its clinical application, by comparing differences in the regulation of immune function and efficacy differences among acupuncture, Chinese medicine and acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine treatment in patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.Methods105cases were randomly divided into three groups of35patients each. Except for2cases excluded and8cases shedded,95cases finished the research, which included32cases of acupuncture group,31cases of Chinese medicine, acupuncture combined with Chinese group32cases. Four weeks is a course, and all patients continued two courses. Then the changes of immune parameters, efficacy and security were evaluated.ResultsImmunization:1. Relationship among immune abnormalities and age, course of disease, disease severity:before treatment, the number of immune abnormalities in16-29year old is more than in30-39and40-56(P<0.05).Immune abnormalities have no correlation with both course of disease and disease severity (P>0.05).2. Overall aspects of immune abnormalities:After treatment, the number of patients with abnormal immune parameters was significantly decreased among the three groups. The result showed a significant difference between pre-and post-therapy treatment (P<0.05).There is no significant difference among the three groups (P>0.05). 3. Various aspects of immune abnormalities:Acupuncture group:After treatment, the number of patients with abnormal in IgG, C3, CH50were significantly decreased. There is significant difference between pre-and post-therapy treatment (P<0.05).Chinese medicine group:After treatment, the number of patients with abnormal in C3were significantly decreased. There is significant difference between pre-and post-therapy treatment (P<0.05). Acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group:after treatment, the number of patients with abnormal in C3, CH50were significantly decreased. There is significant difference between pre-and post-therapy treatment (P<0.05).4. The specific value of immune parameters:Acupuncture group:The values of IgG, IgM, C3and CH50were significant difference between pre-and post-therapy treatment (P<0.05), which suggested that acupuncture can decrease IgG, IgM value and increase C3, CH50value. Chinese medicine group:The values of C3, C4and CH50were significant difference between pre-and post-therapy treatment (P<0.05), which suggested that Chinese medicine can decrease IgG, IgM value and increase C3, CH50value. Acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group: The values of IgG and CH50were significant difference between pre-and post-therapy treatment (P<0.05).It is suggested that acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine treatment can decrease IgG value and increase CH50value.Efficacy:1. Overall effect:The three groups(Acupuncture, Chinese medicine and acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine) all have significant effect in treating chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. The overall effect of acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group is better (P<0.05).2. Improvement of symptoms、signs、syndromes and quality of life aspects: These four integration of three groups were significantly different between pre-and post-therapy treatment(P<0.05).The improvement of symptoms, syndromes in acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group is better than the other groups(P<0.05).There is no significant difference in improving the signs and quality of life among the three groups (P>0.05)3. Relationship among the effect and age, course of disease, illness:Within group comparisons:The effect of the three groups has no correlation with both age and course of disease. In acupuncture group, the effect has no correlation with disease severity (P>0.05).In Chinese medicine group, the effect of moderate illness and severe illness are better than that of mild. In acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group, the effect of moderate illness is better than that of severe (P<0.05).Comparison among groups:The cure rate of the patients with mild disease:acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group> acupuncture group> Chinese medicine group. The effect of mild illness of acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group is better than that of Chinese medicine group. The effect of moderate illness of acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group is better than that of acupuncture group (P<0.05)4. Relapse rate:Followed up for two months, each group occurred1relapse case. There is no significant difference in relapse rate among three groups (P<0.05)Safety:During treatment, the three groups have seldom adverse reactions, no serious adverse reactions and adverse events.ConelusionAcupuncture, Chinese medicine and acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is safe and effective, can regulate the patients’immune function.
