ObjectiveThrough analyzing the distribution of TCM constitution in the patients with metabolic syndrome and the correlation between the blood pressure, body mass index, blood glucose, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein and the composition such as protein, body fat, waist hip rate, mineral salt and body moisture, to develop metabolic syndrome intervention and treatment, after discovering the characteristic of TCM constitution.Methods396cases of patients with metabolic syndrome were chosen to collect their information such as TCM constitution, blood pressure, body mass index, blood glucose,triglyceride, high density lipoprotein and the composition such as protein, body fat, waist hip rate, mineral salt, body moisture and muscle, etc. in order to analy the correlation.Results1. There were25kinds of constitution were found from the396cases of patients with metabolic syndrome. Single constitution has184cases. Two kinds of constitution conbined has146cases. Three kinds of constitution conbined has66cases. Phlegm-dampness constitution has128cases (32.3%). The Qi-deficiency combined Phlegm-dampness constitution has76cases (19.2%). Qi-deficiency combined Phelgm-dampness and Blood-stasis constitution has41cases (10.4%).2.The common TCM constitutions of the patients with metabolic syndrome have significant difference between gender (P<0.01), age (P<0.05)3.The common TCM constitutions of the patients with metabolic syndrome have no statistical significance between distribution(P>0.05) and have significant difference between BMI (P<0.01) 4. The common TCM constitutions of the patients with metabolic syndrome both have significant difference between systolic pressure and diastolic pressure (P<0.01).hypertension risk stratification (P<0.05), have no statistical significance between hypertension classification(P>0.05).5. The common TCM constitutions of the patients with metabolic syndrome have significant difference between blood glucose (P<0.05)6. The common TCM constitutions of the patients with metabolic syndrome have no statistical significance between the group TG and group body fat and type of dyslipidemia(P>0.05). both group HDL-C and group protein have significant difference (P<0.05)7. Groups, including mineral salt, body moisture and muscle, have no statistical significance (P>0.05). group WHR has significance difference (P <0.05)Conclusion1.Both Phlegm-dampness constitution and Qi-deficiency combined Phlegm-dampness constitution are the common TCM constitutions of the patients with metabolic syndrome.2. Both Phlegm-dampness constitution and Qi-deficiency combined Phlegm-dampness constitution in male patients with metabolic syndrome accounted for a significant proportion, both Phlegm-dampness constitution and Qi-deficiency combined Phelgm-dampness and Blood-stasis constitution to female patients.3. The maximum average of BMI was found in Qi-deficiency combined Phlegm-dampness constitution, and the minimum in Qi-deficiency combined Damp-heat constition.4. The maximum average of systolic pressure was found in Qi-deficiency combined Phlegm-dampness constitution, and the minimum in Qi-deficiency c ombined damp heat constition. the maximum average of diatolic pressure wa s found in Damp-heat constition, and the minimum in Qi-deficiency combine d Phelgm-dampness and Blood-stasis constitution, the later in group very-h igh-risk was accounted for a significant proportion, and other constitutio ns were in group high-risk.5. The Phelgm-dampness constitution and constitution which combined the Phelgm-dampness was accounted for a significant proportion in group IFG(Impaired Fasting Glucose). 6. Both in group protein and group HDL-C, the maximum average were found in Qi-def iciency combined Phelgm-dampness and Blood-stasis constitution, and the maximum average were found in Damp-heat constition.7. In group WHR(Waist Hip Rate), the maximum average were found in Qi-def iciency combined Phlegm-dampness constitution, and the maximum average were found in Damp-heat constition.
