By on-the-spot performance,75subjects were accessed in2standard clinical measuring scales in Chinese language-90Symptom Check list (SCL-90), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Chinese edition (EPQ). Background information:75cases of epilepsy patients, male35cases, female41cases, aged17-45years, mean age29.24±7.29years; seizure types:38cases of generalized tonic-clonic seizures,37cases of partial seizures, including20cases of complex partial seizures,10cases of complex partial seizures with secondary generalized seizures,3cases of partial motor seizures,4cases of partial sensory seizures; seizure frequency:<3times/3months38cases,>3times/3months37cases; course categories:≤2years35cases,>2years40cases.All the data collected were processed and analysised by using SPSS17.0statistical package, using a single sample t-test with overall mean, two independent samples t-test, linear correlation and multiple linear regression analysis, P<0.05was considered statistically significant. ResultThe total scores and factor scores of SCL-90of75cases of idiopathic epilepsy patients except factor scores of obsessive-compulsive were significantly higher than China norm(P<0.05).Compared patients with more than2-year history of the disease to patients with less2-year history of the disease, the total scores and factor scores of somatization, obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety, depression, hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation of the former were significantly higher than the latter (P<0.05). Compared patients with seizure frequency of more than3times per3months to less than3times per3months, the total scores and factor scores of somatization, obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety, depression, paranoid ideation, phobic anxiety, hostility, psychoticism of the former were signi-ficantly higher than the latter(P<0.05). Compared generalized tonic-clonic seizure in patients with patients with partial seizures, both the total scores and factor scores of SCL-90were no significant differences (P>0.05). Compared male patients to female patients, the factor scores of somatization, depression, anxiety of female patients were significantly higher than male patients(P<0.05); the factor scores of interpersonal sensitivity and obsessive-compulsive of male patients were significantly higher than female patients (P<0.05), while the total scores and factor scores of hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation, psychoticism of male patients were higher than female patients r, but the differences were not significant (P>0.05).Personality characteristics of patients with epilepsy were low extraversion, emotional instability and psycoticism personality. The total scores and factor scores of SCL-90of patients with epilepsy was a significantly positive correlation to scores of psycoticism (P) and neuroticism (N) of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ)(correlation coefficient0.60-0.93), and were significantly negatively correlated to scores of extraversion (E)(correlation coefficient0.57-0.90); personality dimensions were returned to mental health of the prediction effect, most of which significantly was extraversion(E), secondly was psycoticism (P) and neuroticism (N). ConclutionCompared with general person, the patients in epilepsy showed various severe Psychologic obstacles of somatization, obsessive-compulsive,interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety, depression, hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation, pathological thinking.
