| In recent years, China’s medical institutions are tremendous changed. Hospitalsincreasingly became self-financed and independently operated social enterprises. In thissituation, it is necessary to mobilize hospital staff enthusiasm for work and implementhospital’s development strategy to promote hospital department’s overall performance.Improving the hospital’s overall strength and promoting people’s health insurance hasbecome most urgent problem for hospital. The performance management is the key topromote the hospital and comprehensively improve the core initiatives. Many hospitals setvarious performance indicators to facilitate the development of all aspects related to thehospital.Director of the hospital is the key business managers and functional managers. Theyplay an exemplary role in the management and play a regulatory role in the medicaldepartment of the hospital. Jiangyin People’s Hospital explored several years andestablished an director assessment system. The assessment linked department director anddepartment management together. It achieved good results. There was significantimprovement of hospital management. And patients got better service and their satisfactionrate is also increasing.This paper took Jiangyin People’s Hospital as a research object. It analyzed itsimplementation and effectiveness of performance management. Throughout questionnairesand statistical analysis, various demands of physicians were clear. Appropriate indicatorswere selected and established by experts. Various factors that may impact performancewere studied by deductive reasoning and analytical methods. The integrated use of thesemethods generated the main conclusions of this paper.1.Balanced scorecard is suitable forhospital performance evaluation, but performance evaluation index system should beestablished according to the hospital’s development strategy and the characteristics of eachhospital.2. Director is the core and entry points of performance assessment system. It canreflect the department’s business performance and management performance.3.Performance management shall be normalized executed. Performance management systemshould follow “planning, execution, inspection, improvement†cycle to maximizeperformance level of staff in hospital. Through the implementation of improved performance management system, JiangyinPeople’s Hospital successfully achieved leapfrog development and became the tophospitals. |
