ObjectiveHenan region is a high incidence area for esophageal cancer, in order to have aclear understanding of the esophageal cancer the disease, this article discussedclinicopathological epidemic features of esophageal cancer in Henan and thesignificance of the related proteins expressed in cancer tissues, further enhance thedegree of understanding of the disease, in order to facilitate clinical services.MethodsThe collection of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University in2006January to2013February operation resection specimens and confirmed byhistopathological diagnosis of esophageal cancer patients with clinical andpathological data, data included patient age, sex, clinical diagnosis, tumor locationand morphology, differentiation degree, invasion depth, the presence or absence oflymph node metastasis, the number of metastatic lymph nodes, immunohistochemicalmarker types etc. Proteins in the tissues by immunohistochemistry SP methoddetection. Application of SPSS17.0software for statistical analysis, test methods byχ2test, to test the level of α=0.05.ResultsIn541cases of esophageal cancer patients, male363cases accounted for67.1%, 178cases of women accounted for32.9%, the male to female ratio was2.04:1;microscopic examination confirmed519cases of squamous cell carcinoma accountedfor95.9%, which accounted for59.7%of moderately differentiated. TNM stage, IIstage accounts for64.33%, IV stage most rare; occurred in upper thoracic segment65cases, middle thoracic segment385cases, lower thoracic segment91cases. EGFR inlymph node metastasis than those without metastasis group increasedexpression(χ2=12.501,P=0.000), CD56expression in poorly differentiated group ishigher than the moderately and well differentiated group(χ2=45.028,P=0.001).ConclusionsMainly in the middle-aged and elderly patients with esophageal cancer and moremen than women; for the type of esophageal cancer by naked eye, the most commontype of morphology is medulla, moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma ofthe esophagus is the most common histological type, the most common location ofoccurrence is in the middle thoracic esophagus; EGFR in lymph node metastasis thanthose without metastasis group increased expression, may be associated with lymphnode metastasis of esophageal cancer;CD56expression in poorly differentiated groupis higher than the moderately and well differentiated group, may be associated withmalignant degree of esophageal cancer.
