Objective:With the progress of the society and economic development, there has been an increasing morbidity of cardio-cerebral vascular diseases caused by atherosclerosis (AS) for its various causes and complex pathogenesis, which is threatening people’s health and lives. So it is the urgent to work out some effective prevention and treatment methods.Until now, the majority of studies concerning the dangerous factors of AS has originated mainly from the western countries, and most of the preventive and therapeutic methods also have been established on the study of the western people. Therefore it is our most important task to ascertain the specific pathogenic factors as well as the effective prevention and treatment.By having made researches and summarization of experiences and lessons about the treatment of AS by TCM and integrated Chinese and Western medicine we have found out that in the studies of AS prevention and treatment, much has been given to the mechanism of blood stasis and phlegm retention. Such studies are greatly influenced by the Western theory of lipid infiltration It is noted that a long-term study has been contributed to the promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis as a focus. It has turned out that the pathogeny of phlegm retention is not appropriated to the interpretation of atheriosclerosis formation and can not prevent it. Seeing that, we have carried out effective research work for a long time with our focus on the theory of vessel strain.As early as2000years ago, Huang Di’s Canon of Medicine, the earliest medical classic, put forward " A man who looks happy and free from worry on the exterior but virtually sad and anxious in the interior is likely to catch blood troubles". Chao Yuanfang,a well-known medical practitioner, in the Sui Dynasty explained it as " A man who constantly racks his brains in scheming would fall in mental strain and is inclined to vessel ailment "(Chapter-the Formation of Qi and Blood in Essential Questions).An exposition from Zhang Zhongjing in Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber says " An ordinary man with a tympanic pulse indicates deficiency due to consumptive disease". Vessel strain may be caused by a long-term deficiency and vitality overstrain, which would impair essence,blood, vitality,etc. resulting in phlegm retention and further blocking the vessels. This disease is involved in the heart, brain and kidney owing to the exhaustion of essence, blood and vitality. On this condition, prescription Yizheng Huomai Bolus is developed on the basis of the following aspects:in accordance with the theory mentioned above, and in combination of the many years of clinical practice, and also on the principle-regulating blood in case of vessel diseases and treating vessels in case of blood disease. At last, Yizheng Huomai Bolus is made following the approaches to nourishing essence and blood to soften the blood vessels, regulating the vitality and mind to relax the vessels, clearing the meridians and collaterals to activate the vessels, eliminating phlegm retention to ensure the smooth vessels. This study is mainly aiming at exploring effective mechanism of the medicine via pharmacological approaches.Methods:In the experiment, Rabbit aortic smooth muscle cells in normal training, wedding, take good cell growth, which According to1x108, L-1density after dilution inoculation in96-well culture plate24h. Cells can be divided into blank group, HCY model group, YZHMW treatment group, HCY model, YZHMW treatment group. After48h YZHMW processing,apoptosis percentage in medium and high dose group were higher than that of HCY group (P<0.01), and increase with the increase of YZHMW doseResult:This experiment indicates that AS is one of the most common disease of cardiovascular system diseases, because of the complexity of the diversity of its etiology, pathogenesis, pathogenic death of high-risk sexual and brought to the attention of the scholars at home and abroad, over the years, has accumulated a lot of research data, put forward many theories, although AS lesion formation mechanism has not yet been fully elucidated, but now think artery intimal lipid with VSMC proliferation is its main morphological characteristics.Conclusions:AS blood mononuclear cells into subcutaneous blood vessels, its specific receptors on the surface of LDL receptors and scavenger receptor and oxidation of LDL, devouring lipid formation of foam cells, monocytes origin for these activated macrophages can release a variety of chemokines, causes the injury platelet aggregation, platelet activation and aggregation and release reaction besides can make local thrombosis, and thus further activate the fibrinolytic system can also be induced in the membrane of VSMC in endometrium and hyperplasia and phenotypic changes of SMC source sex foam cells, leading to changes of the AS development. Due to the AS VSMC proliferation and is difficult to control the biological characteristics of tumor cells, so some scholars think that the two may be different clinical manifestations of the same disease, AS can be seen AS hemal wall carcinoma is put forward of Theory.
