ObjectiveThe recurrence of nasal polyps is difficult in the treatment of nasal polyps, research shows has clearly correlated recurrent nasal polyps and cytokines. Previous studies indicated that Nasal Sinuses Perfusate is good at anti-inflammatory. Then we nasal irrigation with nasal sinuses perfusate after the nasal endoscopic surgery to confirmation of the efficacy of nasal sinuses perfusate and observe its effect on cytokine (IL-5、IL-8、IL-10、 IFN-γ、TNF-α、GM-CSF).MethodTake the patients with nasal polyps from March2012to June2013in our hospital for surgery as the research object, whose met study criteria were divided into2groups. After endoscopic sinus surgery, patients received3months of nasal irrigation, Nasal Sinuses Perfusate group using nasal sinuses perfusate for nasal irrigation, and Saline group with0.9%saline. SNOT-20and Lund-Kennedy score were used to evaluate the therapeutic effect.We took patient’s nasal mucosa as specimens during operation and3months after surgery. To compare the cytokine (IL-5、IL-8、IL-10、IFN-γ、 TNF-α、GM-CSF) changes before and after the treatment between Nasal Sinuses Perfusate group and Saline group, cytokine levels in nasal mucosa were measured with a commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit. The date was analyzed with SPSS software. ResultThe Study included39patients, aged between21and63years, in which25patients were male,14were female, whose average age was37.9±12.35. There were damp heat accumulation nasal type in27cases and cold damp coagulation nasal type in14cases.SNOT-20and Lund-Kennedy score before and after nasal irrigation have significant difference in both groups, while between the two groups had no significant.There were no significant differences in cytokine levels between the two groups before and after nasal irrigation, difference the levels of cytokines (IL-5、IL-8、IL-10、IFN-γ、TNF-α、GM-CSF) were significantly reduced after treatment. The cytokine levels (IL-5、IL-8、IL-10、IFN-γ、TNF-α、GM-CSF) before nasal irrigation showed no significant change in both groups, while changed significant after nasal irrigation, and Nasal Sinuses Perfusate group these cytokines——IL-5、IL-8、IL-10、IFN-γ, obviously lower than those in the saline group, and TNF-α、GM-CSF had not changed. Conclusion Research shows that the clinical efficacy of A and B similarity, and nasal sinuses perfusate regulation better than saline on cytokine, Suggesting that the recurrence rate of nasal polyps may be reduced after a long-term observation.
