Objective:To investigate the effect of nasal irrigating-self after the endoscopic sinus of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps, whether the nasal irrigation-self can speed the recovery of the nasal, decrease the review and the dosage of medicine after the endoscopic sinus of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. It might also add the additional evidence to the further study of the therapeutic effect and the feasibility of the nasal irrigation-self.Method:21 subjects with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps were recruited after informed consent, and were randomly assigned into either treatment group (irrigation-self, 11) and control group (by doctors, 10). Treatment group: nasal irrigating by 2% NS in new type bidet themselves twice one day.Control group: Follow the normal therapy after the endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) every week.To investigate the measure scale of sino nasal outcome test (SNOT-20) and the condition of nasal after ESS, to prepare palate,lung and nasal epithelilum clone (PLUNC) protein, Eosinophil cationic protein (ECP), IL-8 of the nasal mucosa before and after ESS.Result:1. The quality of life (QOL) before and after ESS have improved both two groups (p<0.05), and there are no difference between the two groups before and after ESS in QOL(p>0.05).2. The measure scale of the condition of nasal between two groups has no statistically significant differences (p>0.05).3. The ECP has no statistically significant differences between before and after ESS (p>0.05), but has the trend to decrease; PLUNC protein has improved after ESS and IL-8 decreased, both them have statistically significant differences (p<0.05).4. All the rate-of -change of ECP, PLUNC and IL-8 have no significant differences both two groups (p>0.05).Conclusion:1. Prepared to the normal review after ESS, the nasal irrigation-self has no significant differences in the symptoms and nasal examination on the patients with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps.2. Prepared to the normal review after ESS, the ECP, PLUNC protein and IL-8 in the nasal mucosa have the identical changes in the lever of expression3. PLUNC protein have significant improvement, IL-8 have significant decline after ESS of the patient with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. |
