Acupuncture In The Treatment Of Functional Bowel Disease Clinical Curative Effect Analysis

Objective:Observing Patients with electric acupuncture on He-Mu-shu points, He-sea points and Shu-Mu points, and the different effects of constipation or diarrhea patients with drug therapy. This research aim to illuminate if the He-sea points and Shu-Mu points have the pertinency to the target organs and the Shu-Mu points formular is synery or antagonism. Discussing if it has regulating effect with the same acupuncture do to same or different points.Method:Using research programme with multi-center clinic randomized controlled trail, according to diagnosis, intake and exclusion criteria strictly, sort patients into Drug group (14), He-Mu points group (23), He-Xue points group (30) and Shu-Mu points group (23) on90cases.Drug group of Constipation type take Mosapride citrate and Diarrheic type take Loperamide Hydrochlo-ride Capsules as positive control group; He-Mu points group take unilateral LI11, ST37, ST25and BL25alternately; Shu-Mu points group take bilateral LI11and ST37; Shu-Mu points group take bilateral BL25and ST25.Research cycles are9weeks, which includes one week’s baseline, four weeks’cure period and four weeks’follow-up period. We make the first evaluation at baseline, second at2weeks cure period, third at4weeks cure period and fourth at follow-up period. The effects were evaluated mainly by the number of defecation and shape of stool per week, also by SAS and SDS as psychological assessment. Through analyze the difference of these indexes, illuminate how electrical acupuncture cure functional bowel disease by rules of locating points, using points and two ways regulation mode.Result:1.Influences of electrical acupuncture to the number of defecation: patients with constipation, stool frequencies increased after treatment. There were significant differences from statistics(P<0.05). It means Acupuncture group can improve stool at fourth week and follow-up period. And there was no statistical difference(P>0.05) between group comparison in third group and drug group. Effect sizes in trials is statistically significant (P<0.05) comparing with prior treatment, and it means He-xu group improve stool frequencies. Patients with diarrhea, stool frequencies increased after treatment. There were significant differences from statistics (P<0.05). It means Acupuncture group can decrease stool at fourth week and follow-up period. And there was no statistical difference (P>0.05) between group comparison in third group and drug group. Effect sizes in trials is statistically significant (P<0.05) comparing with prior treatment, and it means He-xu group decrease stool frequencies.2. Influences of electrical acupuncture to shape of stool:patients with constipation, Stool trait scores increased after treatment. There were significant differences from statistics (P<0.05). It means Acupuncture group can improve stool character at second and fourth week of cure period and follow-up period. And there was no statistical difference(P>0.05) between group comparison in third group and drug group. Effect sizes in trials is statistically significant(P<0.05)comparing with prior treatment, and it means He-xu group improve stool frequencies. Patients with diarrhea, stool character decreased after treatment. There were significant differences from statistics (P<0.05). It means these two ways can improve stool character at fourth week and follow-up period. And there was no statistical difference (P>0.05) in the curative effect even through stool character scores decrease after treatment.3. Influences of electrical acupuncture to anxiety or depression:patients with constipation or diarrhea, there was no statistical difference(P>0.05) comparing with these groups. It means there is no statistical significance with different treatment methods to anxiety and depression, so as three groups of acupuncture.Conclusion:1. Clinical effects:acupuncturing Shu-Mu points, He-sea points and Shu-Mu points can improve stool frequencies and characters to patients with constipation or diarrhea. And it acts like western medicine.2. Two-way regulation:the same acupuncture which do to different points can improve stool frequencies and characters to patients with constipation or diarrhea. While the same acupuncture which do to the same points have the same effect.3. Psychiatric evaluation:acupuncturing Shu-Mu points, He-sea points and Shu-Mu points cannot improve anxiety or depression.
