ObjectiveLingnan Chinese medicine school of gynecology originated in the Jin Dynasty, further developed in the Ming Dynasty, and matured in the Qing Dynasty. After the establishment of New China and the Republic of China, Lingnan Chinese medicine of gynecology tended to professional development. There have been a number of gynecologic doctors, such as Luo Yuankai, Cai Yanggao, Luo Cimei and Li Liyun. It is conducive to inherit and carry forward the local medicine by studying in Lingnan Chinese medicine school of gynecology. Researching in academic inheritance vein of famous doctors will be helpful to save the valuable experience of the doctors. On the other hand, it will promote excellent talents growth. All these are important to inherit the academic thought of Lingnan Chinese medicine school of gynecology.Professor Li Liyun is a representative of contemporary Lingnan Chinese medicine of gynecology, who is apprenticed to the famous Professor Luo Yuankai. On the basis of the teacher, Li Liyun read a large number of ancient and contemporary medical books. Depending on the regional characteristics and people constitution, Professor Li perfected a unique style of diagnosis and treatment in Chinese medicine of gynecology. She had trained three academic successors, including Professor Huang Jianling, Professor Li Xiaobin and Professor Xu Min. They all have reputations for academic excellence.Methods1、Systematically collecting the papers, books of Professor Luo, Professor Li and her academic successors. I collected38papers and9books, and analysed and arranged them carefully. Combined with clinical learning from Professor Li, I summarized the academic view and get the academic inheritance vein.2、I selected37valid clinical cases treated by Professor Li and60clinical cases treated by her academic successors of polycystic ovarian syndrom (PCOS).Meanwhile, collected25Chinese gynecological cases recorded in the clinical books of Professor Luo. The relevant data would be input PASW18.0software to establish a database and be analyzed statistically.Results1、In the drug categories, Professor Luo, Professor Li and her disciples all gived first place to tonic herb. Professor Luo used tonic herb for66.86%, Professor Li place it as56.40%, and the disciples place it as47.07%. Drugs for invigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis and diuretics for eliminating dampness constitute are in the second place. All the doctors have the similar characteristics of medicine.2、In using genuine medicinal materials in Lingnan, Professor Luo used genuine medicinal materials for87.85%, and Professor Li place it as77.12%.It shows that the two famous doctors attached great importance to the genuine medicinal materials in Lingnan.3、In the drug meridian, Professor Luo, Professor Li and her disciples all gived first place to the drug of liver, spleen and kidney in the treatment of gynecological diseases. It reflects the doctors pay great attention to the liver, spleen and kidney.4、Through the analysis of the medication, I concluded that Professor Li’s medication is mainly divided into seven categories:one is smoothing the liver and promoting blood circulation; two is nourishing kidney and spleen; three is strengthening spleen and eliminating dampness and phlegm; four is strengthening the spleen and replenishing qi; five is nourishing kidney yin; six is promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis; seven is tonifying kidney yang.ConclusionProfessor Li Liyun is apprenticed to the famous Professor Luo Yuankai, combining with the regional characteristics and people constitution of Lingnan. In clinical, Professor Li gived first place to the drug of liver, spleen and kidney, and pay attention to the use of genuine medicinal materials in Lingnan. She developed comprehensive therapy in the treatment of gynecological diseases, and have a high reference value to the development of Lingnan Chinese medicine of gynecology.
