Background:Breast cancer is a systemic disease, is one of the malignancies harm women’s health. In China, breast cancer is the most common malignancy of women, female body representing7%-10%of tumors, and showed an increasing trend. Research progress in diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer soon after the rapid development of comprehensive treatment, the therapeutic effect of breast cancer improved significantly. In recent years, some of the causes of breast cancer patients had resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs, mainly because there is no form of chemotherapy formalized system, there may be differences in patient-specific physical cause. ABCG2in the human body has an important function, it can be the role of efflux transporters remained stable cells, when the cells in hypoxic cells play a protective role for the state, other similar features are constantly been discovered. ABCG2can identifies and transport a variety of clinical common chemotherapy drugs, and it has a relationship with tumor resistance.Objective:To explore the ABCG2(ATP binding cassette superfamily Gmember2) expression of breast cancer and adjacent tissues. To study the relations of clinical pathological characteristics with ABCG2.Methods:We investigated the paraffin-embedded tissues of112breast cancer patients. Single-staining immunohistochemistry for ABCG2. The expression of the ABCG2in breast cancer and its clinicalpathological significance were analyzed.Results:The expression of ABCG2in breast cancer tissues was higer, it has statistical significance (P<0.05). The expression rates of ABCG2in totle caces of breast cancer was51.8%.There was correlation between the expression of ABCG2 and axillary nodes, clinical stage, it has statistical significance (P<0.05).There was no significant correlation between the expression of ABCG2and menstruation,age, vessel emboli, tumor size, histological grade, ER,PR, HER-2, P53, and Ki67(P>0.05).Conclusion:The expression of ABCG2in breast cancer tissues was higer.There was correlation between the expression of ABCG2and the breast cancer cells growing and metastasis. ABCG2can serve as a new target for breast cancer therapy, targeted therapy for new ideas.
