Objective: To investigate the variation of parathyroid hormone(PTH) and bloodcalcium during perioperation of papillocarcinoma of thyroid, the relationship betweenPTH and postthyroidectomy hypocalcemia(PHC) in peri-operation ofthyroidectomy. To explore therapies method of PHC.Methods: Select45patients performed thyroidectomy all of them were treated inQinghai University affiliate hospital from Mar2011to Jan2012. To analyze PTH andserum calcium level were assayed1day after,2days after and3days afterthyroidectomy. To analyze the difference of the level of PTH between normal bloodcalcium group and low blood calcium group. To analyze the difference of take PCHbetween PTH<7pg/ml1day after surgery and PTH≥7pg/ml1day after surgery.Results:1.Postoperative parathyroid hormone (PTH) have been varying degrees ofdecline in45patients with thyroid papillary carcinoma,23cases of postoperativeblood calcium is normal and22cases of low blood calcium.PTH level1day afterduring2days after and3days after surgery were significantly lower in thepostoperative hypocalcemia group than in the normal postoperative calciumgroup(P<0.05).2.When PTH<7pg/ml1day after surgery, the incidence rate of postoperativehypocalcemia was94.7%,which was significantly higher than that when PTH≥7pg/ml.Conclusions:1.Thyroid surgery may affect the secretion of PTH and thus cause thepostoperative hypocalcemia.2.It is an important proof for predicting PHC early when PTH level1day afteroperation was less than normal.
