Objective: Total thyroidectomy is a common method for the treatment of thyroid diseases at home and abroad.Hypoparathyroidism is one of the most difficult and controversial complications after thyroid surgery in China. The clinical manifestation is hypocalcemia caused by the decrease of parathyroid hormone(PTH).The presence of hypocalcemia has a serious impact on the long-term quality of life of patients after thyroid surgery.By observing and analyzing the clinical factors such as sex and age, this paper explores the related factors of hypoparathyroidism and it's prevention and treatment.Methods:1.In this paper,202 patients with total thyroidectomy with central compartment lymph node dissection were analyzed in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University from January 2017 to December 2018.There were 147 females and 55 males,150 patients under 55 years old and 52 patients over 55 years old.SPSS was used for regression analysis of clinical factors related to hypoparathyroidism in different ages and sexes.2.Establish a database, use SPSS 16.0 to carry out statistical analysis, use the standard deviation of mean to express the value, and use Chi-Square test to count the data, with P < 0.05 as the significant difference.Results:1.Of the 202 patients,85(42.08%)were diagnosed as hypoparathyroidism,of which 83(41.09%)had temporary hypoparathyroidism,2(0.99%)had permanent hypoparathyroidism and 117(57.92%)had no hypoparathyroidism.2.202 patients were divided into two groups by sex: 147 women and 55 men.Among them,85 patients had hypoparathyroidism after operation, including 20 men and 65 women.Age group: 150 cases under 55 years old,52 cases over 55 years old,50 cases under 55 years old in 83 cases,35 cases over 55 years old.3.After total thyroidectomy, serum calcium decreased to below normal in 82 cases(40.59%),while serum calcium and PTH decreased to below normal in 75 cases(37.13%),while serum calcium and PTH decreased to below normal in 48 cases(23.76%).Conclusion:1.Gender factor is a related factor of hypoparathyroidism after thyroidectomy.Female patients are more likely to have hypoparathyroidism than male patients after thyroidectomy.2.Age is also a related factor for hypothyroidism after thyroid surgery. The incidence of hypothyroidism is relatively high in patients older than 55 years old.3.The clinical manifestations of hypoparathyroidism after thyroidectomy are hypocalcemia-related symptoms, and the more serious the hypoparathyroidism is,the greater the probability of hypocalcemia and hypocalcemia symptoms and the more obvious the symptoms are,but the individual differences are great.
