Objective: This study was designed to describe the qulity of life status of people living withHIV/AIDS, and ivesgate the influencing factors including social characteristics, socilcounseling services, High risk behaviors and psychosocial factors which associated withqulity of life and provide evidence for health assessment and intervention.Methods: Totally363HIV/AIDS cases were interviewed face-to-face to obtain informationon social characteristics, socil counseling services, High risk behaviors, psychosocial factorsand quality of life status. t tests and ANOVA were conducted to identify possible correlates ofquality of life, and those found to be significant at the P=0.05level were included in amutltile linear regression model to identify risk factors of quality of life among people livingwith HIV/AIDS in Guangzhou.Results:1. The median age (inter-quartile range) of363participants was36.0(15.0) years.70.2%(255/363) were male.98.9%(359/363) were Han ethnicity.52.6%(191/363) of thecases were married or cohabited. The majority subjects64.2%(233/363) were HIV and35.8%were AIDS. Most of the patients30.9%(112/363)had accepted highly activeantiretroviral therapy (HAART).2. The average scores of quality of life for physical, psychological, social relationship, andenvironment were (63.99±16.05)、(56.65±15.28)、(54.87±15.81) and (52.06±14.18),respectively.3. Multivariate analysis showed that social characteristics factor including local living years,education and occupation status; Factors of socil counseling services incluing first counselingtime and quality of frist counseling; High risk behavior factors including intravenous druginjection and condom use; psychosocial factors including discriminate, socil support, depression and anxiety status were associated with the quality of life among people livingwith HIV/AIDS in Guangzhou.4. The aggregative model of quality of life indicated that education, Hukou, first counselingtime, discriminate, socil support, depression and anxiety were influencing factors of qualityof life among people living with HIV/AIDS in Guangzhou.Conclusions: People living with HIV/AIDS appear to have a significantly increased risk fordiscriminate, depression symptoms, anxiety symptoms, having poorer social support and poorquality of life. People living with HIV/AIDS who with discriminate, depression, anxiety,poorer social support, lower aducation, Guanghzou Hukou and short time of first counselingwere more risk having poorer quality of life. Effective measures on identifying and reducingthe occurrence of these risk factors should be taken in people living with HIV/AIDS topromoting their physical and mental health.
