Objective: By compairing Percutaneous compression plate(PC.C.P)and the proximalfemoral nail antirotation (PFNA) to treatment the elderly intertrochanteric femur fractures,to analysis the best way of the fixation in different types of intertrochanteric femur fractur-es.Methods:A study of trentment elderly intertrochanteric femur fractures of64cases in theOrthpedic department of the Longgang Central Hospital from September2011to May2013, All patients were divided into two groups, A group is treatmented with the Percuta-neous compression plat(ePC.C.P)the other group is treatmented with the proximal femoralnail anti-rotation(PFNA). Thirty cases in the PC.C.P group and Thirty four cases in thePFNA group. Recorded the general situation, type of the fracture, operative time, bloodloss during the operation and after operation, fracture healing time, operative complicat-ions, and scored Harris Standards to be graded before and after operation. Then evaluationand statistical analysis these two methods.Results: There were no significant difference in fracture healing time between the PC.C.Pgroup and PFNA group (P>0.05). The blood loss in the operation and after operation ofPC.C.P was less than the group of PFNA(P<0.05). The operational time of PFNA was lessthan PC.C.P. The incidence of postoperative complications of PFNA was less than PC.C.P(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Harris hip score ofter operation betweenthese two group in stbale Intertrochanteric fractures (AO type A1-A2.1)(P>0.05).Butthere was significant difference in unstbale Intertrochanteric femur fractures(AO typeA2.2-A2.3), PFNA group score was higher than the PC.C.P group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The PC.C.P and PFNA are the used treatment of Intertrochanteric fracturesof elderly, and effective method of treatment of stable fractures,can be chioosed one of them. No significant difference in efficacy between the two Surgical. The stable intertro-chanteric fractures(A1-A2.1)preferred PC.C.P fixation. The unstable Intertrochantericfractures(A2.2-A2.3)preferred PFNA fixation consistent with human biomechanics, andso less likely to cut the head or neck of the femoral, especially preffered for the seriousosteoporosis patients.
