ObjectivesTo master the surgical cases of infant in six areas in Guangzhou City, and approacheffective intervention measures by collecting and analyzing of the infant death informationof six areas in Guangzhou city during2001-2010.MethodsScreening methods：To statistics the Pediatric Surgery-related diseases by “universality,traceability”guidelines. According to the “unity” of the experimental principle, we deter-mined that the judgment of the hospital level,including:The tertiary hospitals are a abovethe regional hospital,which provide high quality specialist health services and the im-plementation of higher education and research tasks. The Secondary Level Hospitals area regional medical center, which provide medical and health services across severalcommunities. The rest of the hospital is divided into first-level hospitals.Finally, accordingto medical records, the parents do not consent to treatment were all judged to be"abandoned". In order to ensure the accuracy of the experimental data.Statistical methods: Data is divided into two parts which included univariate andbivariate, and in accordance with “the age of death”,“type of illness”,“the treatmentsituation”,“select case”and “hospital level”group to statistics screening. Comprehensivelyconsider a variety of factors affect the data. Using the chi-square trend test trend analysisthe trend of the six urban infant mortality rate and neonatal death Rate. ResultsThe surgical infant deaths in a total of112cases in some areas in Guangzhou Cityduring2001-2010; The mortality of infant under1years old had a trend of decline from2001to2010,it is mainly manifested as fluctuations in decline; The mortality of neonatewas first, the mortality of early neonate within seven days was first in the neonatemortality; The top five causes of the infant mortality were: Congenital Heart Disease,Intracranial Hemorr-hage, Gastrointestinal Malformations, Limb Deformities and HeadDeformities during2001-2010;Birth Defects accounted for the highest proportion ofoverall mortality, the mortality of Born Defects had a trend of decline; Congenital HeartDisease is the major reason of death.ConclusionsThe number of birth defects in China have an increasing tendency, while the surgicalinfant deaths specifically rate declined.It is showed that intervention measures of thePediatric surgery have some effect; Surgical death of Six-city in the decade is majority ofthe newborn,it is suggested that to improve the technology of neonatal diagnosis and treat-ment of diseases of the six-city children surgery. Improving the surgical risk of disease inthe children transit system; Vigorously promoting the birth defect-related knowledge andimproving the masses of grass-roots level of awareness of birth defects, thereby reducingthe abandonment rate of congenital malformations child.
