A Taxonomic Study Of The Eriophoidea From Hunan Province Of China (Acari:Prostigmata)

Eriophyoid mite species are the smallest groups in agricultural mites. They are the important pest mites on crops, vegetables, flowers, garden plants and Chinese herbal medicine plants. Hunan is a province with much richer animal and plant species resources. However, the eriophyoid mite species of Hunan have not been conducted an investigation systematically. This dissertation is a comprehensive study on the Eriophyoidea in Hunan Province of China. The study is good for us to further understand and protect the resources of eriophyoid mites and lay a foundation for evaluating the classification system of Eriophyoidea.In total, there are 3 families,31 genera and 55 species,5.19%(55/1059) of the Eriophyoidea of China, including 9 new species,2 new record species in China. The keys to the families, subfamilies and genera (record in China) are shown.34 species which are collected and studied by the author are described and illustrated.
