Studies On The Species Resource Of Cyperacea Family And Landscape Application In Hunan Province

In modern landscape construction, the level of plants design in landscape is improved continuously,the aesthetic consciousness of citizen is also changing.With the consciousness of return to nature is deeping,more and more attention are paid in the development and utilization of wild grass resources.This type of plant with special features,include natural style, nice ecological adaptability and extensive management,which make it has strong application potential in the landscape.Using the local wild grass resources in the plant design which not only abundant the species of plants in city garden,but also make the urban landscape has more local features.On the one hand these could rich with rustic charm, another form the natural simplicity of the original ecological landscape,at the same time,which could avoid the phenomenon that thousands of urban landscape show the same mode.The object of research is the Cyperaceae family in Hunan province, based on the informations through literature and samples,calculating the species number and distribution of Cyperaceae family.Firstly,choosing five typical regionals in Hunan province where the plant of Cyperaceae family are variety(including the major park and scenic belt in Changsha,Heng Moutain natural reserve in Hengyang,Dongting lake natural reserve in Yueyang,Huping Moutain natural reserve in Changde and Dawei Moutain natural reserve in Liuyang).Doing detailed surveys ahout plant species,gro-wth status, ornamental values, biological characteristics, ecological charac-teristics, habitat in formations, community characteristics, etc. Secondly, anal-ysising the survey results,which include characteristics of germplasm resources about Cyperaceae family,ornamental features,characteristics of growth environment and plantage characteristics.Thirdly,using the integrated approach contain the Analytic Hierarchy Process and Gray-correlation analysis evaluate 32 species of the Cyperaceae family from three aspects:ornamental value,ecological adaptation and landscape potential applications.At last,analysis the status and prospects of Cyperaceae Plants in the urban landscape,at the same time,proposing the advantages and weaknesses of using the Cyperaceae.The results show as follows:1. According to the literature data and specimen data, there are totally 148 species and 9 variants which belong to 16 generas of Cyperaceae family in Hunan province, Carex pseudo-ligulata and Carex bodinieri are the species which exist only in Hunan province.In the course of the investigation about five typical regionals,about 65 species which belong to 12 generas were found.2. The majority species of Cyperaceae family are herbaceous perennid. The height of the grasses is about 10-50cm and the shape of the grasses is variety, most of which are based clusters.There are three types from the angle of ornamental value:profile, stem, flower and fruit.3. The root system of the Cyperaceae family is rich and strong,so their sprouting ability and ecological habiits are strong too,also,the ecological breadth is wide.These species have certain tolerance to cold,drought,wet and salt.They are not strictly for environmental requirements,usually,they live below the forest,the edge of wetland field,waterside and stream,or in the marsh.Where they live the main soil type is red earth.The climatic life form of Cyperaceae family is light-demanding and hygrophyte plants.4. In Hunan province,although the species of Cyperaceae family is abundant, the fauna distribution is focused.Magority species are Cosmopolitan and Pantropic, at the same time,the tropical ingredients are more than temperate zone,so,their fauna distribution is the tropical nature of significant.5. Through analysis of survey results,there are about 20 species of Cyperaceae family inform phytocommunit,which include Carex brevicuspis, Carex dimorpholepis,Cyperus alternifolius,Heleocharis valleculosa,Scirpus rosthornii,Scirpus triangulatus,etc.There are three types of phytocommunit: herbaceous,shrub+herbaceous,arbor+shrub+herbaceous.Associated plants of herbaceous mainly foucused in Poaceae family, Asteraceae family,Legumin-osae family,Polygonaceae family,Juncaceae family,etc.6. Using The Analytic Hierarchy Process calculate the weight ratio of the 13 indexes,the result is the weight ratio of the landscape potential applications is the highest,which is 0.637;about the weight ratio in standard layer:amount of resources> antireversion force> aesthetic of flower and fruit>utilization>aesthetic of stem>0.050.7. Using The Gray-correlation analysis calculate 32 species of Cyperaceae family compare the weighted relevancy value and the order to the "Ideal species" which is supposed by perfect evaluation.The result is the weighted relevancy value of Rhynchospora,Scirpus,Cyperus and Carex is quite higher.8. There are some advantages through Cyperaceae species used in landscape, such as saving the cost of city construction, riching species diversity of the city and improving the urban ecological environment.The application forms of Cyperaceae in landscape are varity, which consist of lawn, forest floor,flower border,wetlandscape,waterscape and bonsai.
