H7N9 subtype avian influenza virus (AIV), infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), avian hepatitis E virus (HEV) and avian coccidiosis are very important poultry diseases now. H7N9 subtype AIV is a serious threat to human health which led in more than 100 cases of deaths in China, and other diseases can cause severe pecuniary loss. So far we could not know the current prevalence of these diseases, so it’s very important to conduct an epidemiological survey to them.88 poultry farms in 9 provinces of China had been randomly selected, and an epidemiological survey of the five poultry diseases were conducted. In the research, samples were detected by RT-PCR method to identify the four viral pathogens which were RNA viruses. The positive amplicons were cloned, sequenced and analyzed using Mega 5.0. Coccidiosis were detected by microscope at the same time. The results indicated that all the samples were negative of H7N9 subtype AIV. Of the 88 surveyed poultry farms,60 (68.18%) were IBV positive by RT-PCR, IBDV and HEV were false positive.98.41%(124/126) of the isolated IBV strains belonged to clade 1.4, only two strains isolated from Fujian and Henan belonged to clade 1.1 which contained the vaccine strains. The research indicated that 9 (10.23%) farms were coccidiosis positive of the 88 surveyed poultry farms. Of the 360 samples, there were 18 positive samples (2 samples were mixed infection). All of positive samples were infected with Eimeria genus.6 cases were infected with Eimeria tenella,4 cases were infected with Eimeria maxima,7 cases were infected with Eimeria mitis,1 cases were infected with Eimeria brunette,1 cases were infected with Eimeria necatrix and 2 cases were infected with Eimeria acervulina. All positive samples were latent infection. In conclusion, this survey suggested that the infection rate of H7N9 subtype AIV, IBDV and HEV in poultry farms was likely at a low level, and IBV distributed widely in poultry farms, and coccidiosis in domestic poultry was sporadic. The survey results are of great value in the risk assessment, prevention and control of the five avian infectious diseases in China.
