12 of weaned male lamb with body weight of 5.57±0.36 kg on average were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups(each group n=6).In the circumstance of feeding same diet ad labium, one group of lamb was given with magnetized water(MW, experiment group), and another group given with normal water as control. Two of digestion and metabolism experiments were carried out at 95-110 day’s and 215-230 day’s respectively, and the slaughter performance of lamb was carried out at 240 days in order to study the effect of drinking MW on the growth, digestion and metabolism of lamb. The results showed that the DM voluntary intake and the digestibility of DM, OM, crude protein, cellulose,hemi-cellulose, calcium and phosphorous of lambs at 95-110 days were increased by 25.5%,15.2%, 14.4%(P<0.05), 13.5%(P<0.05), 66.3%(P<0.05), 52.3%(P<0.05), 16.4%(P<0.05)and 1.3% respectively by drinking MW, and that increased by 15.3%, 29.4%(P<0.05), 25.1%(P<0.05), 23.7%(P<0.05), 75.2%(P<0.05), 52.0%(P<0.05), 26.1%(P<0.05)and 31.7%(P<0.05)respectively at 215-230 days by drinking MW. By drinking MW the average daily body weight gain of lamb during 220 days was increased by 47.6%(P< 0.01) and the live body weight, carcass weight, carcass meat percentage, carcass lean weight were increased above the control by 40.8%(P<0.01), 52.4%(P<0.01), 8.8%(P<0.01) and 66.2%(P<0.01) respectively. From this experiment it is concluded that drinking MW could improve the digestibility of diet and daily body weight gain of lamb and improved the slaughter performance.
