Fujian Province Ancient Sweet Osmanthus Trees Resource Investigation And Landscape Application Research

China is the birthplace of the representative species of the genus osmanthus. Since 2500 years ago,there are some cultivated written records about it. At present, there are 32 species in the world and 27 species in China which accounts for 85% of all.Osmanthus fragrans is widely distributed in China.Fujian is a suitable area for osmanthus, which has a long history of planting sweet scented osmanthus.This paper discusses a wide range of the sweet scented osmanthus,including the investigation on resources of ancient sweet osmanthus in Fujian,the introduction and cultivation of 37 excellent cultivars of sweet osmanthus,the application of AHP to construct the evaluation index system of Osmanthus fragrans cultivars in landscape application in Fujian Province and the design of largest theme park of sweet osmanthus in Fujian.The main conclusions are as follows.1.Through a comprehensive investigation of Fujian ancient sweet osmanthus, the distribution and growth of ancient sweet osmanthus in Fujian has been mastered.The investigation results show that there are 348 strains of ancient sweet osmanthus in Fujian, which is rich in resources of ancient sweet osmanthus.2. 37 excellent cultivars of Osmanthus fragrans transplanted around China are cultivated successfully,that enrich the variety resources of sweet osmanthus in Fujian.It shows that the natural geographical conditions of Fujian is very suitable for the growth of sweet scented osmanthus.3.The evaluation index system of Osmanthus fragrans cultivars in landscape application in Fujian province is constructed by 3 criteria of 13 indicators,which provide a theoretical basis for the selection of sweet scented osmanthus cultivation and landscape application.The comprehensive evaluation of 37 Osmanthus fragrans cultivars is completed by applying the system.5 Osmanthus fragrans cultivars are selected,which are large~scale planted.4.As an example the landscape design ideas of Fujian’s first largest sweet osmanthus theme park are discussed by useing the traditional gardening art which includs the project overview,the planning and design principles and the planning layout,in order to provide a reference for the planning and design of similar sweet osmanthus theme park.
