| This paper deals with the classification of sweet osmanthus cultivars in Shanghai. Based on the wide investigation of the cultivars resources of sweet osmanthus in Shanghai, 17 cultivars are recognized, including 6 of Siji Group,6 of Albus Group,2 of Luteus Group and 3 of Aurantiacus Group. After investigation on ancient trees of sweet osmanthus cultivars, the suggestion which these resources should be protected are putted forward. For the better use of sweet osmanthus cultivars, flower styles, flower colors, leaf styles and tree styles have been overall analysised in this paper. In the investigation,we find that the perfume of different cultivars is different from each other. The observation on the petal ultrastructure of eight Osmanthus cultivars ,Osmanthus fragrans'Zaoyinggui',Osmanthus fragrans 'Waoyinggui', Osmanthus fragrans' Zaohuang' ,Osmanthus fragrans 'Jingui', Osmanthus fragrans 'Baiyudangui' ,Osmanthus fragrans 'Sijigui' ,Osmanthus fragrans' Dayefodingzhugui', by scanning electronic microscope comparatively, shows that the upper surfaces of petals are composed of regular project ridges. And a few of stomas distribute at the bottom of them. Significant differences are also observed in the structure of upper surfaces, such as the shape of epidermal cells, the number of regular project ridges. And these differences are related to the perfume of different cultivars.According to the overall analysis of charaters, such as the flower styles, flower colors, leaf styles and tree styles. Based on the principal of being scientific, systemic, purposive, comparable and operable, this paper set up index systems of the application of landscape to appraise 17 sweet osmanthus in Shanghai. All the cultivars belong to five different marks. Results of appraisal. showed most of sweet osmanthus in Siji Group obtained lower marks, and sweet osmanthus in Aurantiacus Group obtained higher marks. At the same time, though the investigation of the landscape application of sweet osmanthus, this paper analysis and summarizes the form and principle of landscape application in ancient gardens and morden gardens. |
