Osmanthus fragrans belongs to the genus Luteus of Luteaceae and is an excellent tree with ecological, social and economic benefits. In recent years,Osmanthus fragrans has rapidly become a popular species in the field of horticultural research in China due to its rich varieties, wide distribution and high ornamental value. However,a large number of literature studies show that most of Osmanthus fragrans in China win by quantity, and the research on variety resources, cultivation and breeding, plant configuration and horticultural production is not deep enough to meet the needs of modern society for Osmanthus fragrans horticultural science.Based on the above background, this paper takes Suzhou Osmanthus as the research object, analyzes the Osmanthus varieties in Suzhou on the basis of actual investigation, sorts out and classifies the Osmanthus varieties resources in Suzhou, and makes in-depth investigation and analysis of records from the aspects of Osmanthus species composition, quantitative characteristics, plant diversity, structural levels, etc.Through investigation and research, the characteristics of Osmanthus fragrans varieties and resources in Suzhou are summarized as followsFirst, the distribution of Osmanthus fragrans varieties resources in Suzhou is relatively concentrated, mainly distributed in Suzhou Osmanthus Park and guangfuyaoshang village, which has the largest number of Osmanthus plants in Suzhou. This centralized distribution is conducive to the development and utilization of Osmanthus fragrans industrial resources in Suzhou.Secondly, although the variety resources of Osmanthus fragrans in Suzhou are very rich and the diversity is very high, there are 33 Osmanthus varieties, accounting for 21.0% of the total varieties recorded in the literature.Yingui is the most widely distributed and common Osmanthus fragrans varieties in Suzhou, followed by Jingui and Dangui, while Sijigui varieties in Suzhou account for the least resources, only two varieties are big leaf Sijigui and round leaf Sijigui.Thirdly,in Suzhou Osmanthus fragrans, the proportion of large flower(diameter of flower is more than 1cm)varieties is not as high as that of medium flower(diameter of flower is 0.7-0.9cm)varieties and small flower(diameter of flower is0.5-0.7cm)varieties,accounting for only about 10% of all Suzhou Osmanthus fragrans varieties, while the proportion of medium flower varieties is as high as 58%,and that of small flower varieties is 32%.After that, the evaluation model of the 33 Osmanthus fragrans varieties mentioned above was constructed and evaluated comprehensively by AHP.The final score of each variety was calculated according to the relative weight value of each character and the score of each character, and then the Osmanthus fragrans varieties with higher score were selected. The final conclusion is consistent with the field survey results and expert opinions. This shows that AHP model is suitable for comprehensive evaluation of Osmanthus fragrans varieties. The Osmanthus fragrans with good varieties are round leaf Osmanthus fragrans, wave leaf Osmanthus fragrans, early silver Osmanthus fragrans, early yellow Osmanthus fragrans, late golden Osmanthus fragrans and Dahua Osmanthus fragrans, which are more favorable for modern horticultural production and processing and utilization of horticultural products. In addition,it also has good application value in landscaping. Finally, because the cultivation of Osmanthus fragrans in China has a long history, and Osmanthus fragrans is the city flower of Suzhou, this paper specially opens a chapter on the culture of Osmanthus fragrans and the application of culture in landscape architecture, and puts forward the improvement countermeasures of the application value of Osmanthus fragrans in horticulture.
