This experiment adopted a design of randomized block, and researched the effects of Penshibao on the growth and physiological characteristics of Euscaphis konishii to select the optimal concentration of Penshibao which could promote the seedling growth and resistance of Euscaphis konishii, and which will provide a reference for seedling production of Euscaphis konishii. The results showes that:(1)Penshibao can promote seedling growth of Euscaphis konishii. The growth was largest when concentration of penshibao was 0.50 m L·L-1, and the difference of growth was extremely significant compared with the control; While the difference of growth was not significant when concentration of penshibao was between 0.33 m L·L-1and 2.00 m L·L-1. When concentration of penshibao was 2.00 m L·L-1, the diameter increment was largest. And the difference of diameter increment was significant compared with the control; While the difference of diameter increment was not significant when concentration of penshibao was between 0.25 m L·L-1and 2.00 m L·L-1. When concentration of penshibao was 1.00 m L·L-1, the seedling biomass and shoot ratio was largest, but the difference of them not reached a significant level among each treatments. Therefore, considering to the ecological protection and cost, the optimal spraying concentration of Penshibao for promoting the seedling growth was between 0.33 m L·L-1and 0.50 m L·L-1.(2)Penshibao can increase the content of soluble sugar and protein, as well as the activity of SOD, POD, CAT in leaves, thus it can improve the seedling resistance of Euscaphis konishii. The comprehensive evaluation of seedlings resistance using subordinate function showed that and the order of seedlings resistance of each treatment from strong to weak are as follows: treatment 3(0.50 m L·L-1)> treatment 2(0.33 m L·L-1)> treatment 1(0.25 m L·L-1)> treatment treatment 4(1 0 m L·L-1)> treatment 5(2.0m L·L-1)> CK(spray water). So When concentration of Penshibao was 0.5 m L·L-1(treatment 3), the seedling resistance of Euscaphis konishii was strongest.(3) Penshibao can significantly improve the content of chlorophyll and nitrogen nutrients of Euscaphis konishii seedlings, so it can promote the seedling growth of Euscaphis konishii. When the concentration of Penshibao was between 1.00 m L·L-1and2.00 m L·L-1, the content of chlorophyll and nitrogen nutrients in leaves was highest. In addition, the content of chlorophyll and nitrogen nutrients have a significant positive correlation with the height increment, and the same with the diameter increment.(4)Penshibao also can remarkably improve the nitrogen content of the soil. When the concentration of Penshibao was between 1.00 m L·L-1and 2.00 m L·L-1, the nitrogen content of the soil was highest. Penshibao has no significant effect on phosphorus content of the soil. But the phosphorus content of the soil was lower than before after sprayingPenshibao. In addition, Penshibao obviously reduce the potassium content of the soil, so it is clear that penshibao can promote the absorption of seedlings on soil phosphorus and potassium. Therefore, during the production of Penshibao foliar’s application, we should add the dosage of phosphate and potash fertilizer as well.
