In order to find out the natural habitat and collect germplasm resources of the Euscaphis konishii,in October 2014,field investigation and seed collection of Euscaphis konishii germplasm resources in the Jinpenshan Nature Reserve in Xinfeng County,Jiangxi Province,the Jiulianshan Nature Reserve in Longnan County,and the wild Euscaphis konishii in Jian,ou City,Fujian Province.Seven provenances/families of Euscaphis konishii,which grew faster in the seedling stage,were selected.With the two-year seedlings as the research object,respectively comparing the seedling height,ground diameter increase when the substrate water content at 85?90%(control),65%?75%(mild drought),45%?55%(moderate drought),25%?35%(severe drought)of maximum water holding capacity in the field and SOD/POD/CAT activity of the vanes,malondialdehyde/soluble sugar/soluble protein and chlorophyll contents.And used correlation analysis and fuzzy membership function method to comprehensively evaluate the drought resistance of the two-year seedlings of different provenances/families.The main findings are as follows:(1)The Euscaphis konishii of the survey area were scattered in broad-leaved forests and needle-broad mixed forests,and grow beside valleys or the mountain roads at 136 m?566 m altitude with depths of the soil,relatively high humidity,sufficient sunlight.(2)There were 108 families of 56 species of associated plants around the Euscaphis konishii in the survey area,among which the number of arbor species was the most,totally were 21 Family 34 Genus 45 Species,accounting for 41.67%of the total number of associated plants;shrubs plants tota:tly were 23 Family 32 Genus 36 Species,accounting for 33.33%;herbaceous plants totally were 21 Family 17 Genus 21 Species,accounting for 19.44%;vine totally were 6 Family 6 Genus 6 Species,accounting for 5.56%.The Family with the largest number of species were Lauraceae(10 species),and Fagaceae(7 species),Camellia japonica(6 species).The most frequent associated plants were the Alniphyllum fortunei and Rhus chinensis,followed by the Litsea cubeba,Ilex pubescens,and Maesa japonica(3)From the natural habitat of the Euscaphis konishii in the survey areaes,the species had poor natural competition ability,strong water and moisture resistance,hi-light,and certain negative resistance.(4)Plant height and ground diameter increment of the Euscaphis konishii of different provenances/families were significantly positively correlated with substrate water content;SOD/POD/CAT activities of vanes and soluble protein/MDA content/matrix water content were significant negative correlation;the correlation between soluble sugar,chlorophyll content,and matrix water content was not significant.(5)The drought resistance of the seven provenances/families,from the strong to the weak,was JX-XF-015>FJ-JO-014>JX-DY-003>FJ-JO-008>JX-QN-002>GD-SX-005>FJ-JO-032.
