The objects of this research were Yanqi horse in the Xin Jiang Bazhou Bayinbuluke Town. This test mainly studied the effects of supplemental different levels of suhar beet pulp on the digestion and metabolism, athletic performance, blood gas indexes of Yanqi horse. This experiment provided a reference for sugar beet pulp in the application of horse on dietary. 12 Yanqi horses were randomly divided into three groups according to performance, body weight, body measurement and age. The groups were referred to as the control group, experimental groupⅠ and experimental group Ⅱ and 4 horses of each group. Horses in the control group, groupⅠ and groupⅡ were fed with diet supplemented with 0, 0.6, 1.2 kg/d of sugar beet pulp under the condition of the same on basal diet. The results showed that, 1)compared with the control group, apparent digestibility of the DM, OM, CP, NDF, ADF, Ca of the experimental group Ⅱ were increased by 8.90 %(P<0.05), 6.84 %(P<0.05), 11.33 %(P>0.05), 14.77 %(P<0.01), 18.22 %(P<0.01)and 14.22 %(P<0.05)respectively. Meanwhile, compared with the control group, the amount digestion of DM, OM, CP, NDF, ADF, Ca of the experimental group Ⅱ were increased by 17.91%(P<0.01), 16.05 %(P<0.01), 21.49 %(P<0.05), 24.27 %(P<0.01), 28.93 %(P<0.01)and 21.47 %(P<0.05)respectively. However, the experimental groups Ⅰ compared with the control group, and there were no significant changes of the amount digestion and the nutrients apparent digestibility of all group(P>0.05)except that the amount digestion of NDF and ADF were respectively increased by 8.19 %(P<0.05)and 9.43 %(P<0.05). Compared with the control group and the experimental group Ⅰ, the digestible energy of the experimental group Ⅱ increased by 14.92 %(P<0.01)and 11.23 %(P<0.01)respectively. Nonetheless, there were no significant changes of the N, Ca, P retention and retention rate of the horses between group(P>0.05). 2)Compared with the control group, the water intake of the experimental groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ were increased by 8.74 %(P>0.05)and 20.80 %(P<0.05)respectively. However, there were no significant changes of the feces displacement and urination of the horses between each group(P>0.05). Meanwhile, compared with the control group and the experimental group Ⅰ, the retention of water of the experimental group Ⅱ increased by 28.73 %(P<0.05)and 35.76%(P<0.05)respectively. In addition, compared with that of the control group, the content of the antidiuretic hormone of experimental group Ⅰ and Ⅱ were respectively increased by 14.65 %(P>0.05)and 45.93 %(P<0.05),and also, the adrenocorticotropic hormone levels increased by 14.65 %(P>0.05)and 45.93 %(P<0.05)respectively. However, there were no significant changes of the levels of aldosterone, cortisol, angiotensin Ⅱ, atrial natriuretic peptide, K+,Na+and Cl- supplemented with sugar beet pulp(P>0.05). 3)Compared with the control group, the game speed of the experimental groupⅠ and Ⅱwere respectively increased by 5.16 %(P>0.05) and 22.28 %(P>0.05),the heart rate of experimental group Ⅰ and Ⅱdecreased by 19.92%(P<0.01)and increased by 22.83 %(P<0.01)respectively after the game immediately. compared with that of the control group, the experimental groupⅠ and Ⅱdecreased by 36.82 %(P<0.01) and 16.13 %(P>0.05)respectively after the game in terms of heart rate for 20 min. After the game, compared with that of the control group, the blood Hb and Hct levels of the experimental groupⅠrespectively decreased by 13.99 %(P<0.05) and 13.95 %(P<0.05), the content of blood PCO2、TCO2、HCO3-and BE of experimental groupⅡrespectively decreased by 14.18 %(P<0.05),16.67 %(P<0.01),17.30 %(P<0.05) and 100 %(P<0.05),the levels of Anion Gap increased by 40 %(P<0.05).Before and after the competition, there was no significant changes of the blood PH between each group(P>0.05).The result showed that the athletic performance of Yanqi horse was improved, the retention of body water, the content of antidiuretic hormone and adrenocorticotropic hormone of Yanqi horse were significantly improved by supplemented with 1.2 kg/d of sugar beet pulp in diets, and it was a positive regulatory role for the organism about the water metabolism. Meanwhile, the amount digestion of DM, OM, CP of Yanqi horse could be significant improved, the amount digestion of NDF, ADF and the apparent digestibility were extremely significant improved, and supplemented with 1.2 kg/d of sugar beet pulp in diets obviously improved the nutrient utilization of Yanqi horse.
