Cranes is one of the faced most serious threat in the world, in order to research the difference of blood physiological and biochemical indices between different species, sex and ages,we built a date set of blood physiological and biochemical indices from some captive cranes. Our research used six species cranes(red-crowned crane(Grus japonensis), white-naped crane(Grus vipio), siberian crane(Grus leucogeranus), crane(Grus grus), demoiselle Crane(Grus virgo), hooed crane(Grus monacha)) as research objects that from Zoo, we tested their blood and get18physiological indices and24biochemical indices, and analysed the data set with Excel and SPSS. From the result we found that, blood physiological and biochemical indices had none significant difference in adult cranes between male and female(P>0.05); while between adult and juvenile cranes, many indices exist significant difference(P<0.05); among different cranes species, most of the indices exist significant difference(P<0.05). The adult red-crowned cranes white blood cell count(WBC):14.26±3.08; red blood cell count(RBC):2.06±0.21; the platelet count(PLT):2.58±1.31; alanine aminotransferase(ALT):27.38±4.34. Adult White-naped crane white blood cell count(WBC):14.62±3.79; red blood cell count(RBC):2.00±0.10; the platelet count(PLT):6.67±3.67; alanine aminotransferase(ALT):25.00±9.34. The blood physiological and biochemical indices of cranes reflected the species characteristic and their physiological state. Our research can provided reference and basis for the crane artificial breeding, disease diagnosis and treatment.
