Compared with other types of potato planters, the advantages of cup belt potato planters are as follows:accurate and uniform seeding, convenient pacing adjustment and small seed damage. Belt potato planters are large and medium potato planters in the agricultural machinery markets. However, the misses index and multiple index of cup belt potato planters of our country are high, and work efficiency of them is low. Although there are numerous literatures about design of potato planters at home, few studies of the factors that influence the misses index and multiple index of cup belt potato planters are conducted. Therefore, this paper analyzed the influencing rule of each factor on the misses index and multiple index of cup belt potato planters, and the highest working speed and optimal work parameters that can meet standards are obtained. This can provide the reference for the design and actual production of cup belt potato planters.The test results show that belt tension has no significant effect on misses index and multiple index. The higher planters’ working speed, the bigger misses index, the smaller multiple index. With the increase of seed filling height, the misses index decreases, the multiple index increases. The translational distance of vibration wheel raises, so does the vibration intensity of belt and misses index, but the multiple index decreases. Within the required range, the highest working speed of planters is 7.75 km/h. If we need to keep the misses index and multiple index within minimum bounds, the optimal parameters are A2B1C2.
