| Maize is one of the most important food crops in China, occupies an important position in national economy, so the maize seeds of high vigor is of great significance to the agricultural production. Corona discharge field(CDF) is a new type of electric field(EF) methods,but research on treatment effects and physiological mechanisms was rare. This research focuses on optimal treatment conditions of corona discharge field(relative air humidity, seed moisture content) and physiological mechanisms. The main conclusions are as follows:1.The effects of air relative humidity on corona discharge field were studied. The results showed that the vigor indexes exhibited significant differences compared with the control when the air relative humidity was 20% and 30%. The treatment effects had not significant difference under two air relative humidity, but the vigor index increased more than control when the air relative humidity was 20%. Therefore, it was shown that 20% is optimal air relative humidity.2.According to use orthogonal test and principal component analysis, the results showed that the optimization theory were 400 kv/m for 7.1 min with the low moisture seeds(6%), 350 kv/m for 5.6 min with the medium moisture seeds(12.5%), and 290 kv/m for 4.8 min with the high moisture seeds(16%). The results showed that optimal field intensity and treatment time were increased with the decrease of seeds moisture content.3.The proportion of relative increase of the three types of maize seeds decreased with the improvement of maize seed vigor. Three types of maize seeds(12.5%) with different vigors were treated with optimization theory. The results showed that all the vigor indexes significantly improved compared with the control. It was indicated that the order of the increase of seed vigor was low > medium > high.4.After optimal corona discharge field treatment, the electrical conductivity significantly decreased compared with control, the activities of amylase, dehydrogenase, SOD, POD, and CAT increased compared with control on maize seeds with different vigors. According to compare the results of all the physiology and biology indexes, we can find that the medium and high vigor seeds showed greater increases than the low vigor seeds. |
