With the rapid development of civil aviation, the amount of flight assignments and aircraft movements in airport is increasing. While in the airport terminal area, there are several equipment use for communication, navigation and surveillance to guide and monitor aircraft to take off, taxiing and landing. Various special vehicles, aircraft taxiing, and the construction of new hangar are likely to directly affect the airport electromagnetic environment, in particular the localization signal and glide slope structure of airport instrument landing system(ILS). Stability and safety of the airport electromagnetic environment directly relates to the safety of tens to hundreds of people. And therefore the study of airport electromagnetic environment is very important and meaningful.Electromagnetic environment in airport terminal areas is affected by multiple factors, such as the signal type of device itself, the different antenna type, the airport terrain environment and the interference signal will all have an impact on the airport electromagnetic environment. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, this paper give a brief analysis of the domestic and international airport terminals regional situation and development trend of modeling and simulation of electromagnetic environment, described the real problems and facts for improvement.Secondly, the electromagnetic environment mathematical modeling was put forward.we studied the radar signal, communication signal and interference signal calculation model. By modeling the antenna pattern, antenna attenuation function and the radar antenna scan model, we briefly analysis the antenna model. Then we concluded the impact of environmental parameters on the electromagnetic environment.Thirdly, we analysis and made the model of the electromagnetic environment in airport terminal region. This paper showed the details of various aviation radio equipment and their band distribution, so we got the characteristics of the electromagnetic environment of the airport terminal area. Followed by, simulation results give the common equipment system signals in modeling.Finally, we design and realize the electromagnetic environment simulation software. Structural framework of software was introduced and detailed description of how to conduct each module was given. In combination with the actual airport, software testing was conducted combined with the actual LASA airport terrain; the simulation of main electromagnetic signal equipment in airport terminal region was accomplished. The testing results show the effectiveness of the software.
