The development of early Tianjin region was relatively slow because of many natural and social factors. In the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the environment in this region had become relatively stable, it provided opportunities for development. The development format which took Tianjin city as the center was established. The driving of Tianjin city and all the districts collaborative development promoted the overall development of Tianjin region. So in-depth study of the formation evolution of ancient Tianjin region’s central district has an important academic value. This article is mainly composed of six parts:The introduction, introduces the paper’s selected topic reason, the research significance, research status, research methods and the key, difficult, innovative and the concept of the subject-Tianjin region. The first chapter discusses the development level of Tianjin region before the yuan dynasty, analyzes the reasons for the stagnation and decline of its development in the early periods. This development is divided into two stages:the Spring and Autumn Period mid and late part to Han Period and the end of Eastern Han dynasty to Song and Jin period. The second chapter deems all the districts in Tianjin region had made different levels of development in Yuan dynasty because of the advantageous natural conditions and the stable and uniform background. In this period, the location of Tianjin city in the future really begins to rise, its grain transportation, salt industry and commodity economy had larger development. At the same time, Hexiwu in Wuqing sub-district is developing very rapidly. And the place in Jinghai and Baodi sub-districts also have a further development because of grain transportation and the salt industry. The third chapter focuses on the development of Tianjin city (the center of Tianjin region) and the surrounding counties under the grain transportation and the salt industry in Ming and Qing dynasties. In this period, Tianjin city gradually became "the north secondary economic center" and "the Changlu salt management and distribution center" because of its developed grain transportation and salt industry economy. From then, its political status and economic status are enhanced greatly. At the same time, all the surrounding counties’economies also develop greatly because of the grain transportation and salt industry. Wuqing and Jinghai where under the influence of grain transportation and Baodi, Ninghe attached their importance to salt industry are closely related to Tianjin city. Then Tianjin region where Tianjin city is at the center finally forms. The fourth chapter analyzes the reason that Tianjin regional center was established and the regional overall development driven by the regional center. The early instability of geographical environment and the superior natural conditions of Tianjin city in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty, and the business economic transformation in line with the economic development needs jointly contributed to the regional center status of Tianjin city. Under the effect of regional center radiation, the interaction between Tianjin city and surrounding counties in terms of population, the economy is greatly increased, the economy of each county adapt to develop. The collaborative development of Tianjin city and every surrounding county promotes the overall progress of Tianjin region. The conclusion part states that the formation and development of the regional center of Tianjin is the result of historical evolution. The establishment of the central status of Tianjin city not only depends on its superior natural conditions and traffic conditions, but also depends on the rapid development of a commodity based economy. Among them, the development of grain transportation and salt industry became the two largest cause of Tianjin regional center’s development and the region’s overall progress.
