Technology creative and new product development are key factors for success of enterprise. This competence highly depends on the effective management of R&D team. Due to R&D team’s unique characteristic, traditional salary management is facing serious challenge. How to improve cooperation and knowledge sharing through good practice of salary management? How to increase opportunity of success for R&D project? It is difficult issue for many companies.This thesis is focused on salary management policy for R&D team. Based on many theories of salary management both domestically and internationally, this thesis designs questionnaire. Through survey, we can understand how the team performance is impacted by salary competitiveness, salary structure, performance evaluation process, etc. Different company has different project and R&D team member, which means it is not possible to find single salary policy to cover all type of R&D teams. This thesis further divides R&D team into sub groups by gender, age, size of team, project life cycle, tries to understand how these factors affect each sub group, and explores the most suitable salary management policy.All data are coded and entered into SPSS software. A descriptive statistical analysis is conducted to understand the distribution of samples. Correlation analysis is also implemented to calculate correlation coefficient between different factors(internal equity, salary structure, etc) and team performance. So we can compare which factor has the highest correlation coefficient. And hypothesis test is used to verify whether correlation really exists or not. Finally, based on statistical analysis, salary management improvement measures are recommended, company is able to adopt its own salary management policy based on their real situation, so team performance can be maximized.
