After30years of development in the architectural decoration industry, the expanding market and fierce competition has led to the division of five different echelons in this industry with varied competitiveness. The purpose of this study is on how the Ocean Company survived and developed as a newly established architectural decoration enterprise in the fierce market competition.The target of this study focuses on the Ocean Building Decoration Company, analyzing its cultural strategies with the theories of strategic management and corporate culture. This paper identifies the company’s core competitiveness in the macroeconomic and industrial environment through the analyses of the VRIO framework on the basis of the tangible and intangible resources and capabilities. This paper employed the typical methods to find out the Ocean Company’s overall cultural strategies after the analyses of the company’s advantages and disadvantages. The implementation of the material, behavior, institutional, spiritual cultures is also discussed.This paper puts up theories with practice. It draws out the middle and long term strategies of forging ahead for the Ocean Company through scientific analyses and explanations. It demonstrates that the people-oriented team culture under the leadership of entrepreneurs is the essence of the Ocean Company’s cultural strategy. The cultural strategies of the Ocean Company will guide the company to move forward and achieve sustainable development through hard working in a complex and volatile market environment.
