This study is about the XYZ decorative material company (a foreign company in China) and Qingpu factory that were established in September 1994 in Shanghai, and then began to produce a lot of high quality decorative materials. Being the producer of high quality and the state-of-the-art products and rendering excellent services, the company becomes a first choice for professional designers in China. The high position is attained by the company due to maintaining the latest technology which lends a hand in creating high quality and new style products.This study attempts to analyze the competitive strategies employed by XYZ company in attaining a dominant position in the Chinese market. The findings of this study are based on the PEST analysis and Poter's five force model. Moreover, in order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the company in the context of its internal and external environment this study has also employed the SWOT analysis. This study identifies that change in strategy and its implementation as a result of changes take place in the internal and external environment is a prime factor in the success of a company.
