The level of urbanization is one of the important marks to measure a country orregion’s development level.Urbanization is not only refers to the growth of urbanpopulation, also includes city mode of production, city life concept spread to the ruralareas, and people to accept the culture of the city.It is an important phenomenon inthe world today, it is the process of population concentration to achieve national orregional service agglomeration, agglomeration of wealth accumulation andtechnology, but also the production processes, organizational methods and lifestylechange. Urbanization essence is introverted and extroverted style clustering basedformula supplemented by a comprehensive role in the process delay. But urbanizationis not a simple farmers into the city, it means economic growth mode, as well assignificant changes in national lifestyle national consciousness. Degree ofurbanization depends on the level of economic development, from another angle, it isalso an important symbol to measure the development stage.Currently, Yunnan hasentered the intermediate stage of urbanization, but urbanization lags behind economicdevelopment, but also behind the national level is not high quality urbanization, theurban system has yet to be improved, including historical and cultural factors andenvironmental factors become resources in Yunnan constraints of urbanization. In thewestern development strategy and the open border background, Yunnan should takedistinctive new urbanization, thereby improving the urban level sequence system,optimizing the layout of the structure of the region. Therefore, by studying Yunnanurbanization and economic development in the relationship, put forward specificproposals, the reality is quite meaningful work. This article is to study the relationship between urbanization and economicdevelopment of mutual influence. From economic growth, industrial structure andemployment structure and the level of consumption of these four areas in YunnanProvince to study the interaction between urbanization and economic development,and then put forward specific proposals for sustainable development.Through the above analysis, the paper comes to the following main conclusions:1.Yunnan province urbanization and economic growth are causal relation, theimprovement of urbanization can promote economic growth, and economic growthalso can promote the development of urbanization, the two aspects to promote eachother and develop together.2.No matter from short-term or long-term perspective, the urbanization canpromote the readjustment of industrial structure, With the growth of urbanization, theproportion of non-agricultural industries will grow.3.The urbanization can promote the readjustment of employment structure, theimprovement of urbanization can attract the employees to the service industry.4. There is a big gap between urban and rural consumption in Yunnnan province,but with the improvement of urbanization, the income level of resident improve,consumption level gradually improved, It disclosed the fact of the change ofconsumption model which is on the main of the living type consumption.Finally, the conclusion of the study, we should vigorously develop the tertiaryindustry, the reform of household registration system, and promote the integration ofurban and rural development and other related revelation.
