Data center which are equipped with large number of servers and other IT equipment is developing rapidly, as well as the rapid development trend of telecommunication business and Internet business, For the control of air temperature, humidity and cleanliness, you must set up dedicated air conditioning system especially for data center room. There are lots of equipments, high level of integration electronic products, no moisture source, little staff activity. Thus data center presents the load characteristic of high heat dissipation and lower moisture content. The load characteristics and operation characteristics determine its energy consumption level which is different from conventional architecture, with the demand of energy saving and consumption reduction is growing. The air conditioning system of accounted for more than 40-50% of the whole energy consumption. Due to factors such as unreasonable air flow organization, unmatched equipments also give rise to the wastes the cooling capacity to a certain extent, the field of computer room air conditioning energy saving potential is tremendous.Experts, scholars and engineering technical personnel at home and abroad have accomplished a lot of research on energy saving in data centre, air distribution optimization research in data center room shows an important direction of widespread attention. Air distribution operation, presented by thermal environment, based on the qualitative analysis was carried out on the thermal environment combined with the evaluation index to carry on the quantitative calculation, can achieve the goal of comprehensive and accurate utilization of cold energy research.For reasonable program to improve capacity utilization, which can be used in engineering solutions, are cold aisle containment, cold aisle partial containment, hot aisle containment. The actual running effect of these improvements should not be examined only by practice, some certain means like numerical simulation research method is also important to make a discussion or take a prediction, which shows the advantages of conveniently, quickly, efficient and accurate.In this paper, the quantitative calculation of evaluation index to make a thorough study precise evaluation on a actual project. This paper has carried out the following research work:(1) The comprehensive study of evaluation index.In this paper, the main point of the research is to make a analysis and comparison among the thermal environment working on different conditions. Therefore, we make some introduce on concepts the data center field related in this paper firstly, on the basis of comprehensive introduction combing relevant research and progress of the evaluation index, make a table list and contrast analysis, we proposed a assessment system which is made up of two parts following, one:data center energy consumption combined with refrigeration system efficiency evaluation; the other:thermal management as well as evaluation of the thermal environment. The assessment system above can be the basement for subsequent numerical simulation research and quantitative calculation.(2) Numerical simulation research and qualitative analysisBased on an actual data center project, we carry out the simulation research and qualitative analysis with four working conditions, simulation results are analyzed, making a discussion on the cabinet level, floor grille wind level, overall thermal environment and level of simulation results, including horizontal comparison; We made the data analysis and come up to a preliminary conclusion based on the simulation results, then we have a clearly quantitative calculation needs to be done in further research progress.(3) Index calculation and quantitative research.The results of evaluation index numerical calculation and contrast analysis between the working conditions is discussed in this part, we use the results of numerical calculation data to make a analysis graphics; Following the further analysis between the working conditions (B) and working conditions (D), which are two kinds of working conditions of comparing the calculation results and the expansion analysis; based on the comprehensive qualitative analysis and quantitative research results, we made a summary as following:1, The outlet air temperature of cabinet with four kinds of working conditions ranges from 25.8 ℃ to 36 ℃, along the direction of flow process, air volume increases, the outlet air temperature near AC unit is relatively high and unsteadily.2, Thermal environment improves according to sequence of working condition of A, C, B and D; Environment temperature in central position of data center room is relatively higher; temperature is stable in the closed channel, containment measures is beneficial to the uniform of air distribution. Outlet air temperature uniformity of working condition B is the best, making fully use of cold quantity; Heat movement in working condition D confined within the thermal channel, needs hot return air path layout, cost is relatively higher and shall ensure there is no air leakage; Based on SHI, RHI results, we can come up to the conclusion that working condition 吧 can be better.3, The results of RCIHI is 100% on all working conditions, indicating that overheating problem not happened; Between the different columns and different locations within the same column, there are differences. Cabinets lies on the positions of 7 to 13 show a lowerβ, a higher ηr. Thus we recommend that equipment with high safety requirements can be placed in the middle of each column and partial position after; Relative to working condition A, SHI index of working condition B and D reduce by 97.1% and 76.5%, further illustrating the conclusion that working condition B is more conducive to make full use of the cooling capacity.In this paper, we carried out a comprehensive analysis on thermal environment evaluation of data center project, made a contrast on the similarities and differences among four different kinds of operation results, summarized the general conclusion, in order to provide references for related engineering practice.
