In recent years,the rapid development of cloud computing and big data makes the large-scale application of data center possible.The characteristics and requirements of data center operation directly determine the high energy consumption of data center.The management efficiency of data center thermal performance and its air flow organization performance are of great significance to the reliable and energy-saving operation of data center.In order to improve the thermal performance of data center and reduce the energy consumption of data center,it is necessary to evaluate and analyze the thermal performance of data center.Therefore,some scholars put forward many evaluation indexes of thermal performance of data center.This paper summarizes the current development of the commonly used evaluation index system and focuses on their characteristics and applicable levels.According to the applicable level,the thermal performance evaluation indexes of data center are divided into room level,row level,rack level and server level,so as to analyze the application of indexes.This paper analyzes the main advantages and limitations of each index,and provides suggestions for data center operators how to select appropriate evaluation indexes for data center design and optimization according to their own specific construction conditions.This paper also presents the framework of the multi-scale evaluation system of data center thermal performance,which provides a reference for the future energy-saving optimization of data center.This paper measured the data center room of a financial center in Nanjing and evaluated its thermal performance with different evaluation indexes.The results show that the evaluation index is of great significance for real-time feedback air flow management.However,it is necessary to combine reliability with energy saving to evaluate the thermal performance of data center in a more comprehensive and multi-scale way.
