In modern society, large and medium-sized cities are widely facing traffic congestion problems. With the advantages of its convenient, fast, punctual and large-volume, urban rail transit becomes the preferred scheme for the construction of the urban transportation. Metro Automatic Fare Collection system (AFC) is the core subsystem of metro construction and management, achieving the function of automatic management by Ticketing, Checking and the data statistical analyzing in the whole process. Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) is the key equipment of the AFC system. However, it has not been fully produced domestically. In recent years, urban rail transit construction is developing rapidly in China. Thus, it’s necessary for us to study the ticket vending machine system due to the huge demand for AFC system and localization of urgent requirements.This paper firstly describes the current domestic and international research status in the fields of AFC, and mainly analyzes the existing problems in the domestic AFC and TVM fields. The significance of this research is represented by analyzing the huge advantages of AFC in transportation and TVM localization issues. Taking the subway line II of Wuxi AFC system as the research background, this paper designs the layered architecture by analyzing the requirements from the aspects of function and performance of TVM and represents the ticket issuing subsystem module partition. By combining with the selected key technology (UML Modeling, Software Reuse, Multi-threading technology) and using object-oriented design method, we elaborate the detailed design and the implementation of the ticket issuing subsystem’s each business module. Finally, a number of test cases are designed to test and analyze the implementation of the project. The test results show that the system meets the original design goals, which has the ability of running on the line.Finally, some existing shortcomings and deficiencies in the system design process has been explained and some constructive suggestions have been put forward, in order to provide some references for research and development in the field in the future.
