Research And Analysis On Elective Course Management System Of Public Elective Course In Sanming Vocational And Technical College

With the rapid development of campus network, it is increasingly prevalent to applied information technology to school management. However, elective courses used to be managed manually, which is far from enough to keep up with the teaching requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a new elective courses management system in accordance with the rapidly increasing teaching demands.This paper first defines its research subject and task by giving an introduction to the elective courses management system in Sanming Vocational Technical College. In the professional analysis, this paper examines the current system’s organization structure, the original work flow, and existing problems, suggesting an optimized work flow. In the function analysis, the paper analyzes the new system’s function by providing the overall function package diagrams and 7 sub-function package diagrams including curriculum management, student withdraw management, course registration management, feedback management, class reschedule management, and data management. In the data analysis, this paper configurates the database structure with 19 entity relationship diagrams. The paper concludes with a summary of the research project, proposing an outlook for the later tasks.With the engineered software development method, this papers not just analyzes the professional demands of the elective courses management system and optimizes its work flow, but rather to establish a system model for the elective courses system in Sanming Vocational Technical College with tools of subject-oriented analytic methods, which not only sets a example for informatizd elective courses management, but also contributes to the informatization reform and development for teaching management in vocational colleges nationwide.
