Museum exhibition as a place of cultural information transmission and communication in recent years, gradually began to use the method of " literary narration " to change the traditional exhibition strategy of big-integration, let the exhibits "alive", take the initiative to communicate with the audience, tell their own stories, so the tendency of exhibition story gradually displayed. However, the "narrative" is the expression of literary theory. It is difficult to express with an accessible way on display. So this paper puts forward the concept of "telling stories", which can more enrich the "narrative" and easy to understand. The exhibition of "telling stories" can meet the needs of the inheritance and promotion of Chinese culture and the masses of cultural choice.It is also an inevitable requirement of constant innovation on exhibition. In this paper, regard the exhibition of domestic museum as the research object and start from its classification to analyzes the present situation of nowadays museum exhibition. On the other hand, full use of research methods in museum studies, literature and aesthetics and start from the concept and characteristics of "telling stories" to research the significance and value of the application of "telling stories" in museum exhibition.At the same time, this paper also emphatically studies the method of "telling stories" and its practical application with the help of a number of successful cases that using the "storytelling" method.Finally, the actual specific traditional exhibition is analyzed and considered according to the method described in this paper. Let the application of the method of "telling stories" become a reality,and provide some thinking and refrence for the innovative museum’s exhibition.
