| With the rapid development of computer and network technology, the metro fare collection methods have changed from the selling and checking tickets by people to selling and checking tickets on the booking office machines(BOM)ã€ticket vending machines(TVM) and auto gates etc. There should be an AFC running monitoring system in the modern equipment’s automatic fare collection(AFC) system, the system can monitor the operating status of each device, display equipment errors, remind the technicians to repair immediately, reduce equipment errors. Meanwhile,the system can send orders to control the related equipment in the rail traffic toll system, and change the device mode to solve the emergency.This paper designs AFC running monitoring system and proposes the system design and hardware configuration suggestion. The communication software of the system is programmed by TCP/IP protocol-. socket technology and C#. Use oracle 10g database to establish the system’s database; use page presentation layers business logic and database access layer three-tier architecture to design the system software; use Visual Studio 2005 development environment to design user managements privilege managements status monitoringã€data monitoring and sending orders the five functional modules. This design of rail transit AFC operation monitoring system has been applied to a rail line, which has achieved dynamic monitoring the station communication status, the state of all types of equipment inside the stations s operating Mode and has controlled the operating mode of the device. The system meet the design requirements.This AFC running monitoring system can monitor the operating status of each device, display equipment errors, remind the technicians to repair immediately, reduce equipment errors.
