Under the circumstances of fierce competition on the printing market, the printing companies are struggling with the marginal profit. In order to save the printing cost and establish their competitive advantages, the printing companies need not only the integration of superior resources of themselves but also the improvement of enterprise’s informative management level. The implementation of an ERP system which is a combination of outstanding management thoughts and advanced information technology, may become a powerful management tool for reforming the traditional enterprise production. After the implementation of ERP production management system, printing companies can establish favorable enterprise management system and enhance the company’s core competitiveness as well.In order to meet the production management demand of domestic printing enterprises and to solve the production management problems existed in workshop, the author designed a production information management system based on B/S mode for printing enterprises under the guidance of the theory of ERP management, with the use of VS.NET2005 development platform, C# language and SQL Server2000 database.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter are the outline of the topic selection background as well as the analysis of the current research status of the topic at home and abroad and of the significance of the design and development of the ERP system.The second chapter is the analysis of the techniques used in B/S mode printing production information management system, including a platform of printing production information management system based on B/S mode, the system technical architecture, the system structure frame, key technologies and the system development methods.The third chapter is the demand and feasibility analysis of the printing production information management system on the basis of the above.The fourth chapter is the principal part of the thesis. First of all, the author designed the printing production information management system, including database design, system functional design and system structure design. Then, the author specified the main function modules of the system in detail. At last, the author gave the implementation code of the typical modules of the system.The fifth chapter is the test result of the system. It shows that printing process management system basically achieves the design requirements, and it could complete the task of information management.The sixth chapter of this thesis is the summary and prospect of the research work.Good stability and flexibility of the system are owing to the system design based on three layer structure of B/S model and the VS.NET2005 development platform and SQL Server2000 database technology. Design and implementation of this system will enhance the modernization level of the production management of printing enterprises, increase the core competitiveness of enterprises, and lay the groundwork for the implementation of the printing enterprise management system in the future..The fifth chapter has carried on the system testing. The results show that the printing process management system basically meets the design requirements, to complete the task of information management.The sixth chapter is the research work of this thesis is summarized and prospected.The system design of three layer structure based on B/S model, developed using VS.NET2005 development platform and SQL Server2000 database technology is mature, good stability and flexibility. Design and implementation of this system will enhance the level of modernization of production and management of printing enterprises, increase the core competitiveness of enterprises, the implementation can also lay the foundation for future printing enterprise management system.
