Museum, as a strong memory space and imagination field, is an important carrier carrying national, ethnic history and culture, for its own collection and particular history. The process of establishing the modern museum of China, reflecting the rise and development of nationalism in China, and its own law of development as well. The museum is a stage of nationalism, showing a special form of nationalism of modern Chinese, making it a microcosm of China from a traditional empire to a modern nation. As a cross-section of society, modern museum provide clues for understanding the particular form of expression of nationalism of modern China.This Thesis is to study the relationship between modern museum and Chinese nationalism, and the special position of the key role that the museum play in the entire complex system, if both of them have an associated and isotropic relationship or not. As a spatial entity for hosting nation symbol, museum, in the pursuit of nationalism goal, national autonomy, national unity and national identity, in the changes of the external and internal power recombination process, its various elements of the museum experience what redefine and interpretation, to shape the new culture in a certain extent. This is the logic this thesis selected.This Thesis is not intended to provide a statement of some stereotype, but by literature analysis, following a rational logical thinking, hoping to make a little forward of the several aspects above.
