Due to processing a variety of complex shapes component, processing means flexible and high production efficiency, micro-fabrication technology has been increasingly widely used in modern manufacturing fields. In this paper we research the drive and control technology of linear piezoelectric actuator for micro-machining.A universal digital drive based on FPGA for screw-type linear piezoelectric actuator is designed in this paper. The drive can output three different drive waveform including square wave, sine wave, triangle wave total of three different drive signal waveform, while the signal frequency, amplitude and phase can be adjusted within a certain range. These properties can meet the demand of driven applications in most cases. Using the designed drive, the paper researched the open-loop characteristics of screw-type linear piezoelectric actuator,and obtained the relationship between the amplitude, frequency, phase and piezoelectric actuator operating speed.In this paper, a set of closed-loop control system is designed for this screw-type linear piezoelectric actuator, achieved the PID and fuzzy control algorithm, and carried out a preliminary experimental study of speed closed-loop control. Experimental results show that the designed system can achieve a smaller static error, but the overshoot large, the control method and parameters is necessary to further optimize.
