New media technologies have been part of our life, and changed our information contact habits, which also have greatly challenged the traditional TV industry. What will the traditional TV industry do to deal with the fast-changing media industry? SMG, as a leading traditional media group, since the beginning of its establishment, has integrated all group’s resources, expanded the industrial chains and tried new operation management modes, called Zhibofenli, all of which make SMG stands out in the wave of media reforms. When it comes into the new media environment, the competitions between TV industries increased intensely. New media also aroused new problems. Facing these challenges, SMG responded quickly and developed a digital media resources management method and a variety of new media platforms. In the early 2014, SMEG merged with SMG. Entertainment department of SMEG was the first to make some changes, integrating resources, the first attempt to deploy independent producers as the center of a flat organizational structure. New media technology has changed the internal operation and management mechanism and stimulated new content creativities. Analyzing this new round of SMG reforms, we can make a more specific understanding of the entire SMG TV industry, and thus explore the future development models of SMG TV industry.
