With the deterioration of global energy crisis, countries around the world are actively developing new solar energies. And solar PV array power generation technology has been developed rapidly and applied widely. But at the same time, the management problems of PV array construction are also increasingly prominent. It is difficult to satisfy the monitoring demand using the manual inspection and cable remote monitoring. A wireless monitoring and management solution for PV array is proposed in this paper, which combines WSN, remote monitoring system. The main works are follows:To satisfy the requirement of low power consumption in PV data acquisition system, an improved WSN LEACH routing algorithm is proposed. Using the proposed algorithm, the network nodes is classified in three levels(ordinary nodes-candidate head nodes-super head nodes),clustered in second time, and elected head nodes alternately. As a result, the number of direct communication nodes is reduced. The distance among nodes is introduced in the head node electing process after the first round. the ordinary node close to the head node in last round, will have a great chance to be elected as the clustering head node in the next round. The improved WSN LEACH routing algorithm can ensure the network load balance.In order to satisfy the construction and management of the smart grid, a PV array wireless monitoring system is proposed in this paper. The developed system includes three parts, i.e. the sensor node, sink node and management platform. The sensor node hardware contains, MSP430G2553, NRF24L01, voltage and current acquisition circuit, DS180B20 etc. The sink node hardware includes MSP430G2553, SIM900 A, and NRF24L01 etc. The monitoring and management platform is designed by using Visual Studio 2010, C/C# language, SQL Server 2008.At last, the developed system is verified by experiments. It can be seen that the performance of communication between sensor nodes and sink nodes is good, and the platform is reliable. The desired monitoring performance is achieved.
